Casa Don Pedro

This property is close to centre, but it isn't placed in the best area. Most facilities are missing: no WiFi, no hot water even in the bathroom, no lock to the entrance or rooms, there is a cooker with no gas supply, so useless. It is a noisy place and all the noise and sounds from the neighbors will come down to this floor from the shared central patio. You will have no privacy. I was alone, otherwise, it would have been a nightmare sharing the toilet.

Pedro was a fantastic host. He was able to assist with setting up a simcard and finding the basic staples in what can initially be a difficult country to initially navigate. The location is perfect, 2 blocks away from the main commercial area, the old town, and a couple of blocks from the carnival street. There is a shop next door and a few Cuban style cafes within short distance. Pedro was easy to contact and always willing to help with anything. He is easily available over WhatsApp and phone.

I had the most incredible stay at Casa Don Pedro! Pedro is the most incredible host and went above and beyond to make me feel safe and taken care of during my stay. I ran into a few issues on my first night and he spent plenty of time with me to find solutions! I honestly have never felt so well taken care of at a hostel! The hostel is close to the city centre and in a safe residential area, with a little shop next door where you can grab essentials if need be. This is most definitely the best budget place
