Great hostel. Beautiful and calm but with a nice bar and common area for meeting people. I would have stayed longer.

Very nice atmosphere and outdoor design, welcome staff. The only minus, some misunderstandings while ordering dinner. But all in all it is a good place to place.

The best chinese hostel we have been to during our trip. The hostel is not a single building but a group of houses. Great climate. Tasteful food served in a nice restaurant. Room was very clean. Bathroom with full shower (not so common in China). The staff was very nice and helpful.

You can tell that it is a big hostel. Everything is being handled in a very professional way - which might lead to a less "warm" atmosphere. What I definitely did not like at all is that I had to buy my own toilet paper (I stayed in a dorm) and the prices in the cafe were a bit high for a hostel. Other than that, nice stay, very nice atmosphere with music outside in the nice place to sit.

This hostel is excellent! i got my reservation for a single room for 120 rmb but they bumped me up into a double when I got there at no additional cost. The room that I got was unbelievably spacious and possibly the best deal that i got for 120 rmb. The staff also helped arrange my tour to the Terracotta Warriors for 280 rmb. The restaurant was a bit pricey though. Overall, it is definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed it and I highly recommend 7 Sages to everyone.

I've stayed here more then 3 times. The private rooms are good. But NOT the dorms: I had to go and ask for towels, they told me they don't have any. When I said I'll pay - suddenly they had, 5yuan per each+100deposit. I had to ask for AC remote - the staff told me I don't need one this time a year. When I insisted - the gave me one, with warning that if I don't turn it off when I leave the room - they'll take it away. The waitress made a mistake and asked us to pay half the price.

Best hostel in Xi'an for sure! Having stayed both in dorm rooms and in double rooms, I can say that cleanliness is a priority for 7 Sages Youth Hostel. The double rooms could be a bit bigger (you don't have much space to open your suitcase), but besides that my stay was quiet and relaxed. Great atmosphere at the courtyard (in fact one of the best hostel bars I have ever been in China...) and excellent staff!

Room was very nice, modern and updated. Chinese food was good. Unaware if cooking facilities were present. Staff very polite and helpful, however some things lost in translation when ordering. E.g, one orders beans, eggs and toast. All three items come out on separate small plates. Five minutes discussion to obtain big plate. Also 'Mediterranean' pizza turns out to be seafood pizza. Staff were happy to cook another pizza however. All other things satisfactory with hostel however.

Great atmosphere here and the building is fantastic. The rooms were OK, but the weird frosted glass on the bathrooms was a bit odd, and although I was traveling with my husband there are some things you don't want to share. The one thing that really let this hostel down was the food - terrible quality. Staff were just about OK, but as it is such a busy hostel we definitely felt like we were just one of many travelers that pass through the place. Not sure if I would stay here again.

the staff were totally lovely, and they managed to organise our tours really quickly. not entirely sure about the curtain instead of an actual wall in the bathroom (there's glass, but that's a bit too close for friends!) but the hostel was chilled out and the bed was fab ^-^

The rooms were great, modern and clean, the bar was nice and served decent meals and decent prices. The location sucked a bit, in the middle of no where. Around 20mins from city central, staff weren't the best, they just weren't very friendly, they were helpful if u asked questions but they were just dull characters. Also weren't many travellers, don't know if that's because of the time of year/winter.

This hostel was way better than my expectations!! I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. We really appreciated the awesome attitudes of the staff and their willingness to help with anything and everything. :). 加油!b

They were extremely friendly and kind. It has a great vibe. Ping pong, movies and pool. The bar had decent food and drinks. It is a short 15 or so minute walk from the bell and drum towers. The bazaar and food streets are not far. They also offer tours if you are interested in that. Terra Cotta is about an hour away by a taxi, bus will be longer. I'd stay there again.

The place is absolutely gorgeous. There is this medieval feeling to it. The background music in the café is simply outstanding. However, if you want to go for Western food, I definitely recommend going out because they don't seem to have the slightest idea of how to prepare Western meals (drinks as well). On the other hand, the Chinese food there is just perfect.

Brilliant hostel apart from the smell of sewage in the en-suit rooms. Unfortunately this ruined it for us a bit. We just didn't stay in our room when we were chilling out after a day of travelling.Communal rooms are great, smell fine and the communal toilets (western) and showers are also really clean and don't smell at all. I'd stay here again but not in an en-suite. As a couple we wanted to chill out in privet sometimes but just couldn't because of the smell.
