Basically the hostel is a student dormitary which is used in Summer as a so called Summer Hostel. These type of facilities are quite common in Finland. Dormitary may not sound appealing at first but the facilities are very good actually as student dormitories in Finland are very modern and have enough space. There are just 2-bed dormitory rooms. Compared to usual Finnish hotels the price value is superb. Just: This is not your small cozy friends-run hostel but definitely a mass sleeping place.
Student residence turned hostel in summer. Clean rooms, comfy beds, wifi only in small cramped common room. Absolutely no atmosphere. Recommended for families.
A bit spartanic but perfect in terms of location and if you just need a bed. Would stay there again.
In a good location in Helsinki near the central bus station. Expensive for what it is but that's Scandinavia. The hostel has a weird vibe and is not all travellers. Kitchen facilities are ok but small. Rooms were nice though and it was quiet.
Big well-organised hostel with great facilities in the room - the fridge and kitchen were a welcome surprise.
Located a short walk to central helsinki. Directions to the hostel from the train station were spot on - easiest so far to get to! Stayed in a private room which had it's own kitchen facilities which is great. Supermarket only metres away. Friendly staff at the counter - 24hr reception. Only downside is no wifi in rooms (we were aware before booking). Common kitchen is well stocked and there is also a sauna!
The hostel was a short walking distance from the city center with all the bars and shopping facilities in the near vicinity. The room itself clean, but looked old. Quality of stay was adequate. The staff working there were very friendly and helpful. They have a nice lounge area with plenty of power sockets, computers for use and a fussball table. All in all an OK stay.
In a superb location and with spacious be clean rooms. The major downfall is the common room bc it is steril and void of anything to invite and promote conversations. The room is like a depressing hospital waiting room. You are in the capital of the world for design and it shocks me to the lack of thought that went into planning this critical space. Replace the fluorescent lights, furniture, and that stupid wifi connection that is promoting silence and boredom.
Great location and clean. But I wouldn't call it a hostel. It is a place to sleep. The dorm was in another building (office?) and reminds me an a hospital, didn't feel comfortable. There was a common area (inkl wifi) and a small kitchen but a weird vibe. There are mostly older people and not really backpackers. If you are looking to meet other people you may better look for something different. If you just need a bed its fine.
Really cool rooms in A block. Great location. I would definitely stay here again.
Maybe have a designated drop box for your room key when you want to leave to pop out for a bit? It's a bit annoying to have to queue to hand over your key to run out, as every time I tried to do so there was a line of people trying to check in, and didn't want to have to interrupt all the time.
