I wasn't inform that the Hostel only accept cash for payment. Since I paid the deposit during booking with Visa, I assume that the balance payment can be paid using my Visa card. Luckily I have enough cash during my stay in Hong Kong.

we stayed for 4 nights in a 4 bed private room with my family. the room is very small just enough for sleep, toilet is small also. but take note it's a budget hotel. but what matter most the room is very clean as well as the toilet. location is good near mtr station and foodshops just nearby.

When we first arrived, there was one lady who was very rude saying we could not stay there if we did not print out the sheet. We ignored her and talked to another person who found our information right away. (Even if she didn't it would have been easy to look up the information on wi-fi). There were no problems after that. Clean. Easy access to metro.

It is very cheap and you get what you pay for, a room with a bed and TV. Also, internet in the room, big plus for that. Staff was very friendly and rooms and toilet were always clean. Location is good, depending on your demands. Just by the Mong Kok MTR station, takes about 10-15 min to Hong Kong island. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget!

Although the room is a bit small for 2 persons, but that is to be expected in land scarce Hong Kong. Free and fast Wifi in the room, which makes it a breeze to do some last minute research on the places we are going.

We definitely enjoyed our stay in Hong Kong and especially in Ah Shan Hostel. I rate this hostel 9/10. Best recommended hostel in Hong Kong because of its location, security, cleanliness, and convenience. I had a wonderful stay here. I just added a review of Ah Shan Hostel in Tripadvisor. Best location in town . Lucky to get an end of corridor room so very quiet . Room cleaned every other day and you can change towel every day . A pleasant experience at 25% of a hotel room for three.

We had a mixed experience at Ah Shan. The price was right but we experienced 2 significant facilities related issues. The electricity circuit breaker needed to be reset 4 or 5 times over 4 days. It seems our phone and laptops could charge up okay in the common area but from the room they tripped the breakers and it was frustrating. Secondly, the room directly above ours was being renovated and we were treated to "jack hammer-like" sounds. Don't stay in room 1501.

Fiona was very accomodating as well as Ate Yolanda. They were very nice and assisted us in every way they can. We stayed in Ah Shan Hostel in 2008 when we first visited Hong Kong and opted to stay there this 2013 because of the warm welcome and the accesibility of the Inn. Note that the Ladies night market is just across the Inn and this is very convenient specially for the ladies! :)

The level of cleanliness and the location of the hostel is great! Hong Kong does not have the luxury of space, hence the size of the hostel. We're both not large people, so we fitted well. But we had a little issue with the hot shower - the hot water runs out after a few minutes! Other than that, we would recommend Ah Shan Hostel to friends who want the ultimate Hong Kong experience.

Basic facilities, don't expect much, but at least location, security is good. Staffs are friendly too. Please remember to bring your own toiletries as only shampoo, soap & towels provided.

The staff were very approachable and helpful. They were very patient and that made the stay very pleasant for us. Although the room (and toilet) was a lot smaller than expected, it was good value for money for 3 teenage girls looking for a good break away from life after A Levels.
