Ah Shan Hostel Hong Kong Reviews

The location is good. But because the building is a little bit old, therefore don't expect too much. The water heater need to wait for around 10 mins before you can bath with the "correct temperature". Thus advise you to on the heater first and do your stuff. Later then come back and bath. Overall the hostel is good and the hostel people is friendly.

The people staying next door were making a lot of noise and they woke up early, which made it very difficult to fall asleep.

New towel everyday.

I would request a room furthest from the main entrance door. We had a twin en suite room on the 8th floor right next to the main door and with people coming and going all night it was rather annoying hearing the code being entered and the latch noisily opened. Otherwise great hostel, clean bed and towels and suited our needs perfectly.

There was a misunderstanding with my booking. They thought i cancelled my booking since i did not arrive on time. but i showed them my email informing them my late arrival. The owner was very kind to upgrade my room reservation to a private single room to accommodate me. The Filipina, Yolly, in the reception was also very nice. Location is good. It is in the center of Mongkok, the shopping district of Kowloon, accessible by MTR and Airport bus.

If the room can have a window, it will be better.

The location is superb, surrounding by many food shops and stalls. Very near to Fa Yuen market, ladies market and other shoppings. Room is clean with strong WIFI. The staff are friendly too. Although the building is old, there is security guard around for 24hrs. Overall it is a good value if u are budget traveller.

It is better than I expected. Being one of the cheapest accommodations out there I expected it to be so-so. However, I was proven wrong. The room assigned to us was adequate, clean, and the facilities are complete. The hosts are accommodating, they even considered changing our rooms since the number of people in my party was reduced from 10 to 7. I like the fact that it was very close to the subway station, that it has hot water for our morning coffee/instant meals, and it has WIFI.

I liked how the hostel is run by a family.Though the hostel looked old on the exterior, the hostel we stayed in was clean and reasonably priced. The best thing is the location. Just minutes away from the famous streets.The A21 bus to airport is just a street away.Staff was very helpful. We will certainly return.

The hostel is definitely a choice for those looking for a clean and budgeted stay. Thou it is small but at least i have my own private bathroom .

Had a great stay at this hostel, great value for a comfortable and clean room with the basics. Not for the fussy traveller but perfect for those just after a secure room and great location.

We book a 4 bed room but they arrange us a 6 bed room which is ok for us but the iron gate is spoilt which cannot be lock only the wood door can be lock. Lucky nothing happen to us. One more thing is that there is NO wifi available at the room which is no like state on the facilities cause wifi is very important to me.

This was my third stay. I used to like here cause the staff was very nice and location wise, very convenient. However this time, I'm kinda dissapointed with Ah Shan. There was no towel inside. When I informed the staff, she informed me she will bring it later however she did not. I have to inform the owner to get a towel. Then when I requested for additional pillow (willing to pay), the staff told me that the room all reserved so no additional pillow which I thought it was fair enough however t
