Ah Shan Hostel is a good place for budget travelers. Location is superb. Ladies' Market is just across the street. MongKok MTR Station is only 2 minutes away by walking. The room where we stayed (Twin Ensuite) is clean though a bit cramped. The reception is not open 24 hours. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

I had stayed in Ah Shan for most of my trips to HK for the past 10 years. The staffs there are helpful & friendly. Rooms and toilet are cleaned everyday. Location is less then 5minutes walk from MTR Mongkok station. It is also surrounded by bazaars from morning til night. Though it is not the cheapest hostel around but should try them out. But please do not complain the room size is small. You pay for what you get.

For the 6 days I stayed there, they didn't change the sheets at all and didn't clean the bathroom either. They only swept the floor of the small room and arranged some stuff. The toilet flush system also didn't work normally, it made a lot of noise that disrupted my sleep, so in the end i got to turn off the pipe. It was not a pleasant stay, but the location was convenient. If you are low on budget, you get what you pay for.
