Would not stay there again. Was not very clean. Not all, but most employees were very unprofessional. One of them flipped out and started kicking the chairs and tables because his co-worker did not clean after himself after he ate. These are the people in charge of your \"security\" completely mental. I got downgraded from a 4bed to 8bed room, needed to \"fix\" something. When I asked for my difference in price back, did not receive it, and they tried to convince me the 8bed cost more then the 4.Bull

Clean and safe with a very friendly staff. Bathroom and breakfast a bit sparse, however. There are no lockers in the rooms so be sure to bring some kind of pouch for valuables. Overall a good value though. You can't expect the moon for $11.50.

I was happy with my stay: the location was good, rooms were rather clean and the staff was friendly. Only thinks I was unhappy with was the poor breakfast, the additional 5 percent tax that was added to the prize without informing about it earlier and that there where no paper towels in the bathrooms. Also we had problems with the electronic keys. Why doesn´t Anmarie have any female staff?

Had read horrible reviews of the hostel before checking in, but was a lot relieved to find that it wasn't as bad as expected. They've probably being doing some renovation and cleaning up of the place. Dorms were clean with clean sheets. I was scared I'd find cats all over the place, but there was just this one cat in the corridor and not inside the room, which is acceptable to me. It's cheap compared to the rest of the hostels, so I would say good value for money.

The hostel is well located, Amsterdam is not really big city and you can do most of the thing walking. The staff is very nice as well. The breakfast is poor (you can not make toast) and the kitchen close really early (around 10pm). Other thing is that you dont have drawers in the room to put things under lock.

Why have to pay 5 euro extra for a local tax and no other othels in Amsterdam request for it? Somemore why I have to pay 3 euro to keep a bag for 2 hours from 9 to 11 am when check out time is 10 am? I don't mind to accept the inconvience because of work in progress to upgrade the place, but some of them don't like if I ask something extra of what I payed.

It would be nice if the hostel enforced quiet hours. People came into my room yelling in the middle of the night so I didn't even get much sleep. Other than that, it was a decent hostel, but relatively out of the way.

The hostel is situated in a good position , in front of the museinplein. The room is comfortable & economic but the stuff is a little be serious and the owner was too much rigorous & severe (he doesn't like even the smell of marya) so i don't think i will return in this hostel but for sure i will come back in Amsterdam.

Overall an average (at best) hostel in a good location. Some staff good, but some not so good. We stayed on top floor where the fire escape was locked - worrying, but thankfully we didn't need access to it! Dirty tea towels in the kitchen & dining room, also an apparent shortage of crockery, but no shortage of cats wandering around! We felt we were treated like children while we were there, so would not recommend this hostel which we feel is over-priced for what it is.

This hostel is like a home away from home. There is a kitchen so you can cook your own food, the common room has a big screen TV, and the beds are really really comfy. Plus they have two cats so you can have some animal company while you're here too. The wifi actually works in the rooms, and the rooms also have their own sink, mirror, etc. and some even have a balcony as well

I was in my room when the hostel was cleaned and witness the most disgusting thing. The bathroom/shower room was cleaned with the shower head alone. Just rinsed down, toilet and all. No soap or cleaning done whatsoever. There are no lockers or room to lock up any expensive personal items. The staff in general were extremely nice, but the cleaning of the bathroom blew me away. The location is a bit out of the main part of town, but that is to not fault to the hostel or staff.

Choosing this hostel was a last minute decision, as accommodation for 6 way busy the weekend we chose to go. The hostel is in a pretty good location - 5 minutes from the Van Gogh Museum and the I AMsterdam sign. However, the first thing I noticed was the cats - the website had no mention of having cats - and 5 of 6 of us were allergic. They even were in our room, which always ended up stuffy. The shower on the first floor was literally a hole in the wall.

The location was good enough, close to the museums and 30 minutes away from the center. The staff was nice and helpfull. Our room was very clean and big enough for the 6 people we were in, probably not for the 10 that it was supposed to be for, though. The kitchen is small and basic. There is no locker room! and you have to pay 3€ to leave your suitcase in the reception area. Be aware that you will have to pay a 5% fee at the entrance cos of the city tax that was not written anywhere!!

The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. With two showers for the whole building it was sometimes hard to get to use it! The hostel was also very noisy at night so if you are a light sleeper this would not be the best place to stay for you! Great location next to the concert hall and seemed very safe.

The price is acceptable for its location. Nothing special to mention, wifi and simple breakfast (tea, coffee, and toast) are provided. The location is good if you want to visit the museums.

We stayed over Easter long weekend and booked quite late so we paid a lot (all the hostels in Amsterdam raise their prices during busy periods). For the price we paid I was very disappointed - tiny bathroom/shower, old damaged carpets, room smelled of smoke. We had friends that stayed in another hostel nearby that was much much nicer and they paid less than we did. The staff were really nice and friendly, but I just felt really ripped off given what we paid.

There was only 2 toilets for so many rooms. A few of the staffs showed rather unprofessional attitude to us. One was watching football while we waited for him to be checked in. Another asked us not to eat so much for the breakfast( our group made up of 10 people). We found it is quite rude as we have paid for it. If they have so many guests, it is their responsibility to expect more food to cater everyone\'s need.
