A little off the beaten path, ie not located in Yangshuo proper but instead a short bus ride outside of town. However the location is great scenery-wise and accessible to some nearby sights like Big Banyan Tree, Moon Hill, Water Cave and bike rentals. When I came in the off-season I practically had a whole 8 bed dorm-room to myself and the staff was very welcoming.
Great hostel with a very friendly manager! My private room was more like in a hotel than in a hostel. Had a very nice day biking along the river. It would be fine however if the low season was used for giving the bikes a repair so that breaks and gears work properly again.
Friendly and helpful staff, great room given the price (100RMB, offseason). Location is quiet and peaceful while also being relatively easy to access Yangshuo. A good place to take it easy and save money if you are on an extended trip - we spent two nights in the hostel common room drinking cheap beer and watching DVDs at the invitation of JJ, one of the team there. They offer bike hire (the immediate area is great for cycling) and can arrange the typical Yangshuo tourist stuff. Liked it a lot.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful; the manager, J.J. was a great guy and helped us draw a map for our cycling trip and organise a rock climbing trip on the last day. The hostel is great value for money; we originally were staying in a room for 3 and were upgraded to a better room (with a balcony!) at no extra cost. Since it's a little out of the city, restaurants are limited but it is worth it for the breathtaking scenery.
