I had an international plug adaptor to use my uk plug in europe, but the plug socket in the room was already requiring a plastic adaptor, so when i put my adaptor into that t wouls not fit. i could not charge my phone then as there was only 1 sockt in my whole (large) room!! The balcony was directly facing the castle though - this was beautiful and a plus. the owners check you in and leave you - so if you you dont need anything its fine -

There's was no breakfast at all, and the owner's don´t speak a word in english. It was very difficult to communicate with them, and we think that if you run a business in the tourism area, you must speak the basics to communicate with your guests...

The room was clear but very poor. The "breakfast" is one cookie and 1L milk supossed to be shared with 9 people.

Owner was very friendly and really helped out when he saw what was wanted. He did us a lovely favour by letting us have the use of the room on the day we were leaving for a very good price. This meant we had the value of the last day, without worrying about dragging cases about all day. We would return and stay in Sveva anytime we go to Catania.

The hosts were an elderly couple - very nice and friendly. But, they speak only Italian, so it might be tough if you have no clue of the language. The place is a bit far from the train/bus station, but not too far from the tourist attractions - a few meters from Castello Ursino. Very clean, big and airy rooms. The breakfast was more of a light snack, but they couldn't practically give anything more for that price. So, all in all, we were very happy.

A neighbourhood of that hostel is not friendly for travelers. We traveled with our friends and in our both rented cars we had broken glasses.

The views were beautiful - I had a terrace with a view of a castel and of the erupting Mt. Etna. The two drawbacks to the location were that it was a bit outside the main tourist center, and that the streets at night were incredibly loud. I think I would have been fine with some earplugs. Finally, the wi-fi was very spotty when I was there, which was disappointing.

This is a great hostel because of the people! There was also great value for the money because it is in a nice neighborhood. Quite but close to all the attractions. a 20 min walk from the bus station however. The breakfast was simple (corn flakes, milk and coffee). However, the wifi was not available in our room. All in all, loved the stay!

Excellent place to stay with lovely owners. Rooms are spacious, immaculate and have beautiful views of the castle. Above all this is an astounding roof terrace with views of Etna. Simply beautiful!

Truly amazing location right next to Castello Ursino, a beautiful medieval castle. From the balcony we had a view not only to the castle but also to Mt. Etna. Also the building's roof terrace is available for use. The main criticism concerns the toilet facilities. The corridor had only one public toilet, which meant we had to wait quite a bit sometimes. I can imagine the situation is worse in the summer time when the hotel is full.
