Very nice hostel! I stayed in a six-female dorm on the sixth floor. The hostell is only ten min walk from Kyoto station, which is very convenient for travelling. The hostel itself has everything you could need; large common room where it´s easy to meet people, washing machine/dryer, kitchen with stoves and refridgerators if you want to cook, bath and shower rooms on every floor, cafe/bar for breakfast, snacks and drinks. I would definetly recommend this place!

The hostel is clean and value for money. It is a bit far from Kyoto station. However, I managed walks to Hirashiyama area by foot. The hostel has a wide living room + dining area. The kitchen is clean. The dormitory room is a bit smaller. But it is still fine for me.

It is quite far from Kyoto JR station (15-20 mins walk) You need to take off your shoes at the reception. Very troublesome. We had a double bed room. But to our surprise it was a double deck bed in a very small room with no windows. There is literally no room to put ur things. The aircon automatically switches off at 6am and it was really cold inside the room.

Co-ed bathrooms brought me back to my dorm days - don't fret though! Each shower/toilet stall is private with a locking door. Everything was very clean here, showers were really nice. I didn't see or talk to much of the staff except for check-in/out because I stayed in the attached building, but they were nice enough. There was also a cafe attached to the main building that served cheap breakfast.

Clean and up to Japanese standards. Walkable distance from train station. Would visit again!

The facilities here are really excellent. I bet the hostel would be even better in the summer when guests are more able to use the outdoor areas.Rooms were so clean. Beds comfy. Kitchen was fully stocked, with all utensils and 2 sinks and stoves, oils, tea, coffee and soy sauce that you could use. Although the common room was quiet (not super party oriented- until we started playing drinking games in there) you could always have a chat. And there was a bar downstairs with a cool accoustic gig.

I liked this place very much, it had a lot of suggestions of what to do and where to go, nearby and far from the hostel. Also, with a little cafe/bar beside it you could go there and stay there with a good atmosphere.

Best hostel stayed in in Japan.

PROS Great area central to Hongik University, close to the subway entrance and relatively easy to find. Bed was firm but comfy and the hostel is set back from the street so you can get a quiet night sleep. There is hot chocolate, a drip coffee machine and jam and toast every morning. I went in winter and the heated flooring was amazing. CONS Not much for atmosphere. One combined shower & toilet with not the best ventilation. tldr - cheap, warm and basic in a great location.

Great hostel with nice staff. Staying there whenever I'm in Kyoto, so it became somewhat my standard place there. The atmosphere got one star minus, since it is a bit more anonymous compared to the other K's houses, which is due to the large size and many people staying. Nevertheless, everything else is just perfect and well thought out; e.g., the doors don't slam but close slowly. So I can give a strong recommendation to stay in this place.
