PROS: fun, young atmosphere; bar sells drinks, cheap wine, etc; lots of people hanging out; TWO kitchens; lots of trip-planning options CONS: Cats EVERYWHERE (inside rooms/beds/kitchen), TERRIBLE location on the furthest possible end of town, many bathrooms but still not enough, bathrooms/rooms are barren (no shelves, racks). People joked it should be called "CATPackers" for good reason. Like everywhere in SP, wifi is slow, hot shower water is metered.
Very nice hostel! The only down part was the kitchen that had lots of flies and tours offered there were a bit more expensive than in town. Other than that, great staff, clean toilets and good atmosphere :)
Good security with locked front door and lockers. Staff were good overall -- Carlos was great. Easy to meet and talk to people, and the hostel was clean. On the downside, the hostel is located outside of the center, but the town isn't very big. Also had some issues with hot water, electricity, and wifi.
Not too bad. Breakfast was nice and everything was clean
Nice hostel. I guess location doesnt really matter in San Pedro since everything is close to everything. Liked the outdoor areas. Breakfast was pretty basic, but everything is in San Pedro. Good hostel considering its in the desert!
Nice hostel but located a bit outside and for this location it is too expensive. There are hostels in the main street which are far cheaper. Nice common areas to hang out, small swimming pool. Breakfast is nice as well and included in the price. Helfpfull, friendly staff. A big minus: There is very little space on the beds on top. They are creating claustrophobic feelings!!!!
We hated our stay so much we moved out and paid for a new hostel. This is slum like conditions. Our private room had cracks in all the walls. The walls are plywood. We could feel the breeze from outside and see into our neighbors room. At night there is a bonfire with death metal music which may be nice if you don't have a 4am tour the next morning or if your room had proper walls. Laundry (20USD) came back smelling worse than before. Bathrooms feral But staff were very cheerful!
Cool hostel with a really laid back atmosphere. Loads of hammocks and sun beds around the grounds. Two kitchens and plenty of bathrooms. The building itself is basic but kept very clean. Would recommend!
it's a little out of the way and a bit hard to find but the bed was very comfortable and that staff nice and friendly
Nice hostel with nice people, good kitchen and breakfast included. helpful to book tours and activities through. hot showers don't really work, but not a huge issue, quite a walk away from the main town but doable.
Excellent hostel! Though it is not too far from the bus station, it is right on the outskirts of town - don't do what I did, and turn up at midnight without the map (which they send you after you book). The rooms were good, the hostel was nice and relaxed. Only downside is that the bar closes quite early, due to surrounding residents. The staff are extremely helpful, and you can book a trip to do any of the activities available in the town right from reception.
Stayed in the 4 bed dorm which was a little cramped. Nice courtyard area with a pool and lots of places to sit and relax. Staff were friendly and there was a good atmosphere every night at the bar. Tours were cheap also. Would recommend
Clean, cheap, basic single rooms (with paper thin walls). Staff was mixed. One staff member refused to sell me a bottle of water 10 minutes after the bar had closed, and we had been drinking their beer all afternoon. Fridge was directly behind him and I had exact change. Not the most responsible hosting. It is a decent walk to town, in the heat. Hostel is improving, with new, very paddle pool and table tennis. Storage room for bags left unlocked a lot. Overall not recommended.
Even though it seems out of town it really isnt and I really enjoyed the chill atmosphere of the place. I met some really cool people. They offer excursions that will pick you up right at the hostel. They do need to fix there shower scenario though as a majority of time it was cold.
This is not what we expected. We stayed one night and immediately found another hostel and cancelled the rest of our stay. The location is far out of the main square in an area that does not feel safe. The bathrooms were dirty and did not have hooks to hang towels. The pillows were little lumps of matted batting and the lockers were located outside the room and were so small, they were about the size of a shoe box. The wi-fi was slow. This hostel is decent for 20-somethings on a budget.
Although further out the vibe here makes up for it. I loved my stay here and had the best sleep in 6 weeks every night for 5 night . Loved San Pedro
I loved the pool!

Although a bit out if tiwn the atmosphere made up for it. Room for improvement - showers were not always turned on for hot water. It would be good if all bathrooms had the same standard as front one near reception - mirror, hooks, water flow. Loved San Pedro and it's relaxed vibe.
Really nice hostel with a cool atmosphere and vibe. Bit of a walk from the centre of town but it's a small town. Hot water was a bit inconsistent. Staff very helpful, nice and can organise a number of tours.
