WHY WE EXIST?
Travel isn’t just about visiting places, it’s about living moments that stay with you. At Backpackers San Pedro, we believe every conversation under the desert stars, every laugh around a bonfire, and every shared sunrise can change the way you see the world.

HOW WE MAKE IT HAPPEN?
We keep it small and personal: only 22 guests, friendly staff who know your name, and activities that make it easy to meet people without the chaos of a party hostel. Every guest receives a special wristband with discounts at local shops, cafés, and restaurants, so you save money, discover hidden gems, and support small local businesses at the same time.

We also care deeply about San Pedro’s fragile desert ecosystem, so you won’t find a swimming pool here, water is an extremely precious resource. Instead, we’ll share tips on incredible natural spots where you can swim: from stunning salt lagoons to hidden river spots you can enjoy for free, all while respecting nature.

And most importantly… Johanna, Dani, Lidia, and Fabi are more than just staff – we’re like family. We believe in the value of people, both within our team and with every traveler who walks through our door. We’ll welcome you with warmth, share stories, and send you off with a smile and a hug. All we ask in return is the same respect and joy – because this is more than a hostel, it’s a home.

The hostel is just amazing! It organises free fun activities and has a lot of organised tours. Jota at the reception was the most welcoming guy ever! Gave a lot of tips and recommendations and was generally a very nice person to just talk to. Loved my stay :)

Such a great place to stay, made me feel like home. All the staff was so sweet and accommodating, helped me choose the best tours, gave me a lot of information about the town and it's surroundings. They also have free activities which are really nice and involving. It's a really friendly environment. Staying there saved me so much time and truly made my holiday. Fantastic hostel! Really awesome and chilled but also social vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and speak great English. I joined one of the pisco sour nights and it was super fun! And on top of all of that, the hostel is super, super clean! I stayed three nights but could have stayed a lot longer.
