This was a great place to stay. Very clean with an excellent kitchen (best hostel kitchen I've seen yet). Just a little walk to the main square (5min). Nice, relaxed vibe.

From the outside it is not very pretty, but once you stepped into the cosy patio with hammocks and the bar it is just lovely! It was very clean, I stayed in a 6-bed dorm with private batch AND kitchen! The atmosphere was very homely and frinedly, I booked all my tours via the hostel - perfect service! We had bonfires and BBQs, but still after midnight everthing was quiet so we were rested for next days activities. I loved it here!

the hostel was a long way out of town and very difficult to find - not good when you have a backpack on! The owners were very friendly and helpful but some of the other staff didnt want to help at all with problems. Was quite expensive, although not by standards of other hostels in San Pedro. Lockers were home-made of wood and were outside. Some looked as though they had been forced open a few times. However, key to main gate and also to the room were provided.

Nice little hostel, lots of cats chilling about the place. Don't leave windows open, cleaner left ours open during the day and there were about 40 flys in our room when we went to bed.

This was the only available hostel we found in hostelworld. You don´t have any safe place where to hold your belongings, common room is still poor and unconfortable to meet other young tourists. But San Pedro is very cosmopolitan and mostly of your stay is in excursions.

They should really really mention in the description that this place is full of cats. If you love cats then this is your hostel. If you are allergic to cats then welcome to hell on earth as there is no place those cats don't go! Cats aside its an ok hostel with some nice hammocks to lay in the sun. Needs more toilets as only two common toilets to serve whole hostel which are combined with shower so if two people are showering it can mean no toilets for a while. Positives: giant bunk beds

The place is very cozy and the receptionists are very helpful. The location is good. All tours can be bought at the hostel, for great prices. Staying in Backpackers San Pedro was an excellent choice.

I had a great time at Backpackers, great people, helpful and enthusiastic staff, good beds, hot showers, clean and tidy etc. It is a short walk from the centre of town (5/10 mins), but it is safe to walk around after dark alone, and it is quieter and a bit cheaper being a little further out. The discount wrist bands are a nice touch and get you cheaper deals in the shops in town - every little helps as the town is quite pricey. Will definitely be back next year ;)

We thought the location comments in other reviews was negliable - but trust me. It's not. The walk to and from town can be a bit scary as you actually leave town. Bring a flashlight. The room we had was in a small building with no outside windows, which can be great to kept the heat out - but if you need fresh air to sleep, you may want to seek another place. The pictures in hostel world are correct - but when you arrive, you are disappointed. Mixed feelings about this property.

Cheapest option we could find in the overpriced dusty town of San Pedro. The hostel was a little bit out of the main square but with that said the shops, restaurants and agencies are only a 5 minute walk and there is a mini-market and fresh fruit stall around the corner. The dorm room and bathroom was tiny but spotlessly clean. The kitchen facilities were limited but there is enough to get by.

This hostel is a short walk from the town centre but it´s such a small place that this is not much of an issue. The map they send you on booking is really useful. Really nice English speaking receptionist, very helpful for any questions or issues. Good working wifi, comfortable beds and keys for the dorms and the outer door. No breakfast, but I guess most people would miss it anyway as the tours leave at some very early times. There are two little shops just around the corner and a nice kitchen

Stayed in there double room which is ver dark and warm during the day with no circulation of air. And we got bedbugs while we were there!!! It is easy to find but a 10 min walk from the center... Tours arranged from the hostel were great..A lot of flies and cats as well!

the hostel is not right in the center of san Pedro but I don't think it is bothering. I actually found quite nice not to be in the middle of the touristic streets full of people. The rooms are really small and dark but the outdoor area is really nice: large table, hammocks, asado, bar and bonfire, met great people there!

the hostel is away from the city center, an area to arrive at the center has no lighting. Canadian receptionist is excellent but the Chilean manager was boring, morose and little accustomed to conversation. No lockers for bags. My biggest criticism is the rooms. as I was in bed upstairs, I realized that for me it was impossible to sleep there. the ceiling is 10cm away from the bed, so not to turn around without hitting the ceiling.and you have to wear all the time a bracelet orange plastic.
