nice place to stay. and the stuff is awesome!

Great place to stay! Has absolutely everything (and more) than one would need! Staff is extremely helpful, and at night time the bar area is the place to be! With trivia and wii and champagne as a prize, it's awesome! The pool is a great place to relax, and the 7 minute walk to town isn't bad either! The kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms are all very clean! Very impressed with the cleanliness

A great place with brilliant staff, especially the guy who does the quiz at night which we won twice! The only annoyance is the turning off of the wifi at 19:00! Why? People are out all day and like to be online in the evening.

Friendly staff and a unique atmosphere made Backpackers an excellent choice. I felt at home straight away. Within minutes Nico had helped me plan my week and then I could just kick back and enjoy my stay. Tom the barman is a legend.

staff were friendly and gave great advice! relaxed place with great views just perfect location away from the noise of in town. only a 5 min lazy walk away

Other than being a bit out of town, this hostel was awesome. It has great staff, a pool, free wifi and its clean with character.

quiz night is fun and easy to meet new friends. Bathroom could be more clean!

Great hostel for meeting people, very relaxed and laid back. Room was a 4 bed dorm with A/C which worked brilliantly! They run a quiz each night as a good way to get to know people. The internet is only free between 07:00-19:00, outside of that they turn the router off. Would go back to this hostel for sure. It is about a 10 minute walk outside of town but its not an issue as they run regular buses into town. Even to walk its not a problem

We were a mixed group of 4 staying in a 4 bed dorm. The room was fine. The bathrooms/showers were ok if a little awkward that the guys is on one side of the building and the girls on the other. The kitchen left a lot to be desired-small, unclean and not a lot of utensils. Then internet is free but turned off at 7pm.

I had a great time staying at backpackers by the way. Staff was helpful and fun and got a chance to meet lot of nice people at their common area. The downsides for me were not having lockers in the room and also thought the toilet needed to be cleaned more than once a day. In saying that, it didn't spoil my staying and I would recommend it to other people.

Is a 5 minute walk from the town on a hilltop, which gives it a great view of the sea and also gives the silence you need for your sleep. Pool was not really being used by anybody though, which was a bit sad, but they do have quiz night every night at 7 o'clock.

The best hostel in Australia 8've stayed in so far!

Needs a lot of work to bring it up to a decent standard.

Overall good experience. Bathrooms could have been cleaner! Free WIFI is a great plus.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Backpackers by the Bay. It had nice friendly and relaxed atmosphere, our double bedroom was big, clean and had a comfy bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. There were few things that could have been improved, but these didn't spoil our stay: bathroom didn't feel very clean; our duvet cover came with bloody stains and the sunbed cushions needed replacing. On the other hand we have enjoyed relaxing by the pool and in the hanging nests, which was great!

Great place to be. Staff are friendly and encourage social interactions with an enjoyable free quiz and movie time. Highly recommend it.

The reception staff were friendly and very helpful when booking trips, buses etc. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great when I was there but the staff made efforts to keep everyone entertained with films, popcorn, games etc. The quiz in the evenings is great for meeting people, especially if you are travelling on your own like I was. It's only a 5 minute walk from the main street and there is a bus stop right outside which is convenient.

Really nice hostel, staff were a bit funny though when we first arrived. Was definitely just a one off as they were really friendly for the rest of the hostel. Lots going on at the hostel, quiz every night, movies and wii competitions. Only a two minute walk into town but they still have a free courtesy bus. We were in a 4-bed dorm but we were on our own the whole time, they try to give you your own room if its quiet enough!

The room was nice and clean. every night there was a different kind of enterteinment. The hostel was a bit far from the centre, so we had to walk several time up and down, and the staff seemsed a bit dizzy (a lady forgot she gave us the room and later she came with other guests inside the room while we were in the bed); the other guy let us wait more then 30 minutes to give us our backpack back because was too busy chatting. etc.
