Balmers Herberge is the oldest private hostel in Switzerland, with over 60 years of business experience. It’s a real home-away-from-home for travellers from all around the world!
Over the past six decades we have provided excellent service and accommodation for both individuals and groups. We’re one of Europe's Famous Hostels, due to our exceptionally clean rooms, low prices and variety of facilities.
Our Tent Village has a seven-person hot tub and a small swimming pool. You can spend all day in the mountains and then watch the sun go down over the alps while relaxing in the spa.
Come and join us at the Metro Bar and Grill. Our menu includes chicken wings, the best burgers in town and healthy salads, to name but a few. Try our variety of flavoured vodkas or a local brew. We’ve become Interlaken's #1 bar.

I enjoyed the short time I had here, but I would NOT recommend this to families - which we saw a few of there. It's really loud and has a good bar and there's constantly people hanging around which is good, but I just felt bad for the families trying to get sleep. Overall it wasn't a bad stay.
