Good place to stay if you have a car and you are exploring the Isle of Skye. Bring your insect repellent though...

The rooms are basic, the kitchen has most of the necessary equipment to cook a decent meal, there's a dining room and a living room with sofas and some games and the showers work well and have hot water. The whole building seemed a bit run down, it's an ok place but I've stayed at a lot nicer hostels before. New paint on some of the walls and some decent information boards about activities in the region wouldn't do harm.

we loved broadford backpacker!!! the manager was so nice, helpful and friendly as was the rest of the staff. they did all of our laundry for 4 pounds and had it back to us the same night! hot showers, super super clean showers and toilets. kitchen, dining and living spaces wer great. beds were comfy. i can't imagine why anyone would give this place a bad review. if you dont hearing other people maybe you shouldnt stay in a hostel? this place it the best!!! go there! we loved it!

Extremely noisy. People walking, opening and closing doors, talking, screaming, etc. We heard everything from outside while we were inside our twin private room.

Very accommodating staff. Heating doesn't work, and there are a lot of local students that live in the hostel so sometimes you get the vibe that you're intruding, which isn't really the point of hosteling..

Free wifi and plenty of showers, but the shared spaces (esp kitchen) were a little unclean. Does the job though.

Generally run down. Duvets/mattress dirty and looking unhygienic. Showers/toilets and upstairs lounge are nice and clean, otherwise not really appealing. Not sure if covers in midges or bed bugs bites :/

It's a very good location to start exploring Isle of Skye. The hostel has everything you need, is clean and has very friendly staff. We had some quiet restful nights. In 5 min walking distance you find a supermarket, which is open 7 days a week. So self-catering in the hostel kitchen works out fine. I can totally recommend this hostel.

I stayed there in off season and had a great time, the staff were world class and I made good friends with many of them. Stay here for a good time! The isle of Skye is phenomenal!

We only stayed for a night but we really liked the hostel. It has a lovely living-room, dining room and kitchen! The room was heated and luminous. After we checked out, we were allowed to leave our backpacks at reception. It was very rainy so the staff allowed us to stay in the living-room until we catched out bus! The staff was very friendly and talkative, as well as the residents!

A really nice hostel, friendly staff and two big common areas - one more of a dining room and one is more of a lounge room. Clothes washer AND dryer which was really useful since I was only there for 1 night and had a pack full of dirty clothes. The lady on reception was kind enough to help with the washing - kept an eye on it and moved it from the washer to dryer when it was ready, and I just picked it up later.

The entrance is round the side, if you arrive at night it can look like there's nothing there, but it's ok :) The place is nice enough, people are friendly, and there's even a hostel cat.
