I stayed here for a total of 10 days, and loved it. The staff, Lily and Diego are the kind of people you want working in your business, enthusiastic, kind, helpful and knowledgable. The rooms are not spacious, but the beds are comfy and the cleanliness is outstanding. There are two well-equipped kitchens, lots of outdoor common spaces, and a 24 hour free coffee and tea service. Breakfasts are the usual toast and fruit, but it's always fresh and plentiful. I recommend without any doubts.

The places is really clean and the staff friendly. They will help you if you have any question. There are cleaning the whole hostel every day. (which is very nice) There are two kitchens where you can cook (some kitchen ustencil are a little used but it is ok to cook). The computer are old but are working so that´s the main point and you have wifi. I enjoyed my stay there.

Private room with shared bath on 1st floor. I would've liked the 2nd floor for more security as there is no gate out front and I was traveling alone. Great views from 2nd floor as well. Nice kitchens, lockers available (bring lock), TVs, bean bags. Easy to meet others here. Breakfast was a good selection too. Staff was very helpful in organizing tours and prices were good. Walking distance to town, ATM, grocery, etc. 10-15 min walk to bus stop. Bring earplugs due to high winds at night.

A very nice hostel, clean, reasonably priced and super friendly staff. The sweet hostess helped us book tours, answer all of our questions and helped us with our transfer to our next location. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, well equipped kitchen and really hot water in the showers. Breakfast was excellent! I will definitely recommend this hostel!

Fantastic place. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful; always willing to suggest an activity, assist with booking travel, etc. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking materials should you decide to make your own food. Free breakfast is served every morning in the kitchen as well. This was my favorite hostel of my 2-week trip through Costa Rica.

El Pizote was a great place to stay though I felt it was geared more towards families then couples or younger people. The cabins we stayed in were set far back from the main road which was nice because we could listen to the nature sounds all around us. It's located about a 5 min walk from town which at night, is a dark walk The setup of the actual rooms was quite nice but the advertised hot water lasted about 5 minutes before it turned cold. People were friendly. Best breakfast we had in CR.

Wifi was dodgy, the howling wind made it the perfect location for a horror movie, not to mention the weird looking guy in a shell suit that was wandering about. No real common area to speak of, at night if you turned the light on 100's of killer bugs would come in, so we were in bed at 7o'clock every night. Pillows were also rock hard and the dorms cramped

We were in Costa Rica for two weeks in December 2012. Of all the places we stayed this was one of our favorites. Great location and atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended!

Terrific small hostel. Staff were super friendly and really helpful with booking tours and explaining how to get to ongoing destinations. Showers were dismal, but can't really complain. Overall an awesome place
