Camino Verde is a very very nice B&B. It is very clean, and the staff is very friendly, very helpful. We booked a twin w/ shared bathrooms and even got an upgrade for one night to a room w/ private bath... The breakfast is included (as well as tea and coffee the whole day) and is really delicious! The hostel is 5min walking minutes from the centre of Santa Elena, but little restaurants and a mini supermarket are next door! Overall we had a great stay at the hostel and highly recommend it.

it is a fine place to stay overall. The food was good, place was clean. Lots of different kinds of people to meet too. It was the staff that were out of this world. So helpful and willing to help with all your thoughts and plans. would stay with them again.

Very nice hostel for the price, great location close to restaurants and supermarket. They make every excursion easy and have great recommendations. Speak English very well, tidy well kept property, and we had a great experience overall!

I really loved staying at Camino Verde B&B, it was clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and very safe. It was also very convenient to plan out tours right from reception and most tours picked us up at the B&B and brought us to our tours whether that was hiking or zip lining. Great location in the center of town and close to any tours a visitor might want to take.

Camino Verde is a colourful hostel in the tiny village of Santa Elena. It is perfectly located to visit the cloud forests of Santa Elena or Monteverde. The host was helpful with informing us about the possibilities of tours and things to do in the environment. Booking tours can also be done at the hostel, which what we did. The host tends to be a bit businesslike and slow, but it's a holiday so why bother? The room was a bit small though: it fits a double bed + 2 backpacks, nothing more.

1. Screens on the windows would be nice to keep the bugs out and the breeze coming in. 2. A few hooks mounted firmly on the wall would be nice to hang clothes and bags on to keep them off the bed and floor. 3. An electric fan for muggy nights would be nice. 4. A couple of small tables on the rear porch would be nice to set things on (drinks, reading glasses, etc). 5. The morning breakfast had a good selection and generous portions.

5 minute walk from the town center. Jose is very good at recommending things to do while in the area. Good breakfast in the morning. Room was clean and quiet. It was windy one night but it cooled down the room.

Jose was very nice and helpful. he showed me around and answered all my questions with a smile. the location is good, 5 minutes from downtown and the supermarket. i took every possible tour and it was worth it. if you´re looking to meet people it´s not the place, but if you want a romantic peace and quiet place, this is it.

We loved camino verde! Staff is very helpful. Arranged our shuttle for us out of the city via email before we arrived. Laid back, quiet atmosphere. Great gallo pinto.

Breakfast was great! Location was a bit of a walk to town (5 minutes), but this made it nice and quiet in the evenings. The guided tour of Monteverde Park that the hostel arranged was excellent!

We booked a room with Camino Verde B&B, but ended up staying in a room at Tinas Casitas (I think, the building had a different name, but I forget what it is). The room was clean, but the bathroom needed some work and the beds were very hard. The room was plenty big and we felt very safe. It was located off the main road by just a few blocks. Breakfast was good. Jose was extremely nice, laid back, and got us to our excursions and answered all my questions with a smile.

Probably one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at; pretty set-up, friendly staff that helped my brother and I book several great tours in the area. Amazing value for the price, and great place for both young people and families to stay. Would highly recommend!

This was a very clean comfortable place to stay and the location was perfect. It was a 6 minute walk to the center of st Elena but far enough away to enjoy the surrounding beauty the town had to offer. The only aspect of Camino Verde that will keep us away in the future was Jose the front desk attendant. Jose was very cold and snippy behind your back. He seemed to resent helping us when we needed laundry done or a tour booked. Best to avoid contact with him to enjoy your stay.

This is a difficult review. The staff here including boss and events coordinator were superb - probably the best organized and most helpful I've ever encountered. However, note that Camino Verde facility is associated with another hotel/hostel across the street, and you can get put in either building when you book a room here. This other facility, while very clean, has paper thin walls, expect to hear every single noise from any adjoining rooms, at any time of day or night.

Jose - the manager was excellent as well as all of the other staff. The B&B was in a great location in Santa Elena. Hot showers, excellent breakfast and great value for the money. The kitchen/dining area is a great place to chill out with free WiFi. We have such a fun time there, recommended for all ages!
