We had a great experience at this hostel. The rooms are basic - ours had some bugs, but nothing terrible for being a hostel near the rainforest. The staff were awesome. Jose at the front desk is the man. He was there most of our visit and helped us with anything we needed. Downtown Monteverde is a 5 minute walk, so the town's restaurants and main grocery store are close. There's also a small family-owned restaurant next door that's very cheap!

Great group of guys who run the place. My friend and I were very interested in doing everything Monteverde had to offer within a perio of about 36 hours; with the hosts help we were able to do zip lines, suspension bridges, night tour and a coffee tour before heading back to San Jose. During the night walk, one of the hosts even offered me his jacket. Great place, especially if you're trying to experience all that Monteverde has to offer within a short period of time.

I really thought Jose was great with his helpfulness in every way. He was willing to go the extra mile to make sure his customers were taken care of. I liked his attitude and his skillfulness in dealing with customers. He genuinely seemed to care about whether we were having a good time.

I had a wonderful time here. The staff was absolutely attentive, caring, and flexible. Jose was amazing at coordinating transport and tours. I was able to have a great vacation on the little money I had. Skip the beaches and see Monteverde. Breakfast was great and hearty too.

Flaco was incredible and helped us get the most out of our time in Monteverde. We really appreciated the staff's candid advice. We took advantage of the large kitchen for dinner, and their breakfast was delicious. Our room even had cable tv, which is unheard of for the price we paid.

The view is good, but had better in costa rica. Overall the place is clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good.

I was very pleased with how easy it was to book all of our tours with the the staff at Camino Verde. Both Andres and Jose were helpful, knowledgeable and kind enough to plan out our 3 day visit in Monte Verde. We were able to see Don Juan's coffee tour, zip line across the longest line in Costa Rica, horseback ride up mountains during sunset, go on a night bug tour, walk through a scenic bridge tour, and enjoy a morning hike with a guide in one of the many cloud forests to see tucans and sloths.

The facility was good value for the money but I did not like the hard sell we received to book activities through the host. Our time was limited , so we booked two trips through him. I asked specifically to go on a birdwatching trip with a guy named Freddy(read about his trip on trip- advisor).Anyway, when I saw my receipt it said a different name-David's bird watching. I asked for clarification and he said something to the effect that it's the same company- but it wasn't.

This hostel has very good facilities. I stayed in a private room with a friend that was very reasonably priced given how nice it was. The staff at the hostel are very nice and incredibly helpful with booking tours and transportation. The hostel is off of a back road but it's only a 5 minute walk in to town. The only downside to the hostel is that it is not ideally set up for socializing with other travellers.

The B&B is very well located, within walking distances of restaurants, grocery stores, bakery, souveneirs, etc. The owners are on hand at all times with advise and assistance. Clean. The tours we booked through them were top notch. Our ONLY complaint was the noise, walls & roof are thin, so all noise (especially wind) is significant.
