I had a nice time at Casa Bellavista. The Atmosphere was nice, the people too. They were very friendly and helped with every problem. But when I arrived at the hostel at my last day there someone had stolen all my cloth from the room. I slept in a dorm with 9 beds. 4 were occupied, me and 3 men. So tell me why would some men of 30 years stole cloth of a 20 year old woman? So I think it was someone of the staff. The next morning when I was about to leave at 6 AM there was no one at the reception.
We stayed in the seven bed ensuite dorm and the bathroom wasn't working. The working shower wasn't that clean. Because some walls are made of glass, it can get quite noisy at night. The hostel was perfectly located and the staff was helpful.
Excelent location. Private rooms are not so private, since there is no key and some walls are made of glass, but there was no other problem with security.
I had a good private room and bathroom in the hostel. It's in a very good location for seeing the main sights in Bogota. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Also a very efficient and low cost laundry service. It was quiet and a bit lacking in atmosphere, apart from that a good place to stay.
Bit of a mixed bag with this hostel. The location is good near the centre of Bogota and layout is nice too. Only one shower working in whole hostel when we stayed and breakfast, although going from 8-10am, seemed to have no food left after 9am. When we arrived, we were told that the 4 bed dorm was no longer available and that we would have to use the 7 bed, which should have been cheaper, but was charged at same rate with the promise of a couple of free beers. Never materialized
Much love to Casa Bellavista! The owner is super nice and from where I am living (Pereira), the facilities are very nice and modern, the staff is very helpful. Would recommend it to anyone.
The internet was inconsistant and often it was impossible to connect at all - annoying when trying to arrange onward travel. There is only one communal computer and it is slow and freezes. One of the guys on reception kept leaving the front door wide open one night - this made me uncomfortable as the area is not that safe at night and anyone could wander in freely off the street - the dorms are not locked so it would have been easy for stuff to have got nicked.
Funky hostel in the Historic area. Nice and warm with extra blankets. I liked the area as well, very colonial. Took a taxi from airport, they found it easy enough for 30000COP
Loved the common areas of this hostel. This place also seemed to attract lots of really friendly travelers. Also, do the bike tour of Bogota-- the front desk will set you up! Sound and light travel throughout the hostel walls, so definitely bring and eye mask and ear plugs, you will be very happy you did cause this hostel is awesome besides that issue!
