Castanea Old Town Hostel Reviews

A really nice hostel. I loved the location because all major attractions were within a walking distance. The hostel was quiet and clean. There were enough bathrooms and the kitchen was well-equipped. I will definitely stay there again if I come back to Stockholm.

This hostel has very good location and this is main privilege. Rooms are very small. Towels and bed sheets are not included and you should pay for it. Toilets and especially showers leaves much to be desired. Anyway it was not bad stay.

I had a great stay at Castanea. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, value you for money, clean, comfortable facilities and warm staff Castanea is a great spot and is right in the centre of the stunning Old Town of Stockholm, I strongly recommend it!

staff is very friendly facilities is very good it is just that it would be good if hostel can provide breakfast. overall is good

This place was great but it did have its flaws. The doorway on the street was a bit easy to miss. On entering we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who diligently showed us around all the facilities and to our room. The downside was the size of the room, a 6 ft by 8 ft box which just squeezed in two single beds and enough room to store two bags. However, it was very clean and reasonably warm. The shower room and kitchen were great and there was ample toilet facilities for everyone.

Coming to castanea is like coming home

This is a great place to stay! The staff is warm and friendly, the hostel clean and well-located. I loved it here and plan to come back!

We had realy great time there therefore it was only 2 nights. The hostel is located in a beautiful area of the old town with lots of small shops and nice pubs. Fantastic common area and kitchen where you can cook your breakfast or lunch. Nobody is wasting food there so you will always find something interesting in the refrigerator. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

The Staff was nice to combine my booking with a friend's so we could stay in a private booking, but neglected to cancel my old booking, meaning that I had to pay for a late cancellation fee. This was surely the error of the staff, as this was done by the other party before I had arrived, and the hostel admitted to but refused to accommodate for this clerical error. That was frustrating, but otherwise it was a perfect hostel, very comfortable, clean, good location, and a great value :!

Best hostel i´ve ever been to! It´s small, but has so much character! The small twin rooms are really small, but nevertheless still worth the money! The staff was incredible! They were friendly, helpful and always had great tips and time for you! The location was incredible, in the middle of ol town! I am definitely coming back!

Ill always remember it as my first hostel I've ever stayed in and it was perfect for my first time!
