We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nagano. The Ryokan was so nice and the owners treated us so well and respectfully served us like we we're special to them. I will recommend them to other visitors. Arigatou gaziamos!

Very nice hotel in Matsumoto. The staff speaks English and the food is excellent. A little far from the city center on foot but there is a bus stop next to the ryokan, and there also are free bicycles for the guests.

we loved the genuine feel of the ryokan. The owner and his family made us feel very welcome. Good location, opposite a bus stop from the train station, but also within walking distance of all attractions (and station too). Discovered while checking out that they can provide (Japanese ) breakfast and dinner, so that could be advertised better. Also, they accept credit cards which we had been advised they did not. Finally, the WiFi is excellent. Highly Recommended.

Close to most places you want to visit and see in Nagano. Also it is doable to walk from the the station if you want otherwise there is a free bus that goes from the station through the town. The staff is a old couple and manage to understand English so knowing Japanese is recommendable. The Ryokan itself is really cosy made out of wood and the price is affordable for those who want to save money but live nicely.
