Ha ha, you totally figured out the hidden motive behind the free pasta! Pasta has to boil for ten minutes, so at least for that long you have to stick around in the kitchen - and it's pretty hard to not get to know people while you do. And you know what, it's our guests who make us the best hostel ever - you guys are awesome! It's a privilege to work in a place where you meet so many cool travelers. Cheers, Lena

Absolutely the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Super clean, cool, full of great ideas. Between the free noodles and the leftover fridge, you could eat for free most nights. The free sauna is great as well.

They stole my iPad during my stay at City BackPackers. I leave my iPad at the top of my luggage just besides my bed, aprox. 15cm from me, with clothes on top so nobody see it. When I woke up the iPad wasnt there and the staff of the hostel didnt care about it and told me that "I should sleep with my iPad under mi pillow''. Thanks City BackPackers Staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, let me tell you again how sorry I am that one of your fellow dorm mates took advantage of your trust that way. I have thought a lot about this situation, since I already read your tweet about it. Normally it’s hard for me to be sure what happened, so I investigate and ask our staff about it. This time I didn’t need to since I was there. I did care! I sent one of the receptionists to help you look for your I-pad, and asked if you wanted help reporting the theft to the police. Also, I felt especially bad, since you had trusted your fellow travellers, and one of them took advantage of that trust. The reason we have lockers in all our dorms is so that you should not have to sleep with your valuables under the pillow. You choose not to use the lockers – and your I-pad was stolen. If it happened to me I would be very angry, hurt and disappointed, and I would want to blame someone. So I totally understand you blame me. But do I think it’s fair to rate our security this low, when you yourself have chosen not to use the free lockers we provide? Honestly, no. Also, do the cleaners deserve the lowest possible rating? And is our location really that bad? I think you are being unfair, but it is very undestandable. I hope this doesn’t ruin your faith in mankind – I do admire your trust in fellow human beings! Kindly Lena

This hostel is amazing! I have no complains about it. Well located, staff was so kind, bedrooms were clean and secure, there where a lot of bathrooms and a really nice area to meet people and have a good time. Computers available, nice sauna! Worth every SEK spent! :) Keep going like this guys and you'll have only success.

It was possible to enter the kitchen and common room without key codes etc when reception was opened. One night a person who did not have a room in the hostel was sleeping in the common room and was not removed by the staff. We suspect that the next night she did not have a room either, but managed to slip in our room to sleep there for free. Thus, we did not feel very safe.

Hi, thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We are now changing our routines thanks to your feedback, to make sure something like this never happens again. You are a dream guest for telling reception about the problem, so we can do something about it! Welcome back anytime, and hopefully next time you will feel totally safe... I couldn't imagine a better hostel! Worth every penny! Great atmosphere, very clean, a lot of facilities- huge kitchen with free pasta, sauna, many couches to sit and just chill. Everything very high quality. People that are staying there are mostly young travelers with great attitude so u can always have a nice chat with someone.

Very cool hostel ! The best thing is the kitchen : very large and super-equiped, you can cook what you want and eat with other people. The location is great too : 15 min walk to Gamla Stan (Old city), it is next to a commercial street, and next to a supermarket. Our only problem was the room : we ordered a private room cause we're a couple, but the room was equiped with bunk beds, and not twin beds ! Plus, there was no windows ! Fortunatly the ventilation system was good.

Hi there, thanks for the feedback! City Backpackers is mainly a backpacking hostel, and most of our beds are in dorms. Over time we've had feedback like yours, from couples, or friends travelling together, who want to stay at a hostel, but not in a dorm. We are doing everything we can to change spaces into twin rooms (the room you stayed in used to be the guest kitchen!) But we only have two rooms with double beds, I guessed they were already taken when you booked your stay. The twin with no window has a lower price than the doubles. Glad you liked hanging out with our other guests in the kitchen, and I hope you had an over all good stay in Stockholm, cheers Lena

Great Hostel! The best I've ever stayed in! Good place to meet new people. Great facilities (lots of bathrooms, private showers..) Staff was really really helpful. Only bad thing: the Wifi was usually really bad in the mornings.

Hi, sorry you had problems with the WiFi. Sometimes I seriously wonder if we have ghosts, because there is no logical explanation for some of the technical problems that occur... There used to be a torture chamber down in our basement in the 17th Century, so it kind of makes sense if our ghosts dislike technology. So far we haven't tried exorcism, though, but the hostel owner keeps working on the WiFi situation. He will not rest until everything at City Backpackers is top notch, I know that much! Kindly Lena

Only problem was with the Asian family staying there for the simple fact it isn't really a hostel where a family should be staying at especially on a weekend as was shown when they annoyed a large amount of hostels guests like myself by forcing us to change behaviour despite the fact they were the only ones who found us to be a problem

Hi there, I am sorry you didn't get along with your fellow travellers! We usually have the most awesome guests possible. Most are young travellers, but every now and then we have a guest who want to pass on their love of backpacking to their children, which we think is awesome. We don't discriminate any age group or ethnicity, nor religion or any sexual preferences - everyone is welcome to stay here just as long as they respect their fellow travellers. But if you are staying at a hostel and one of the other guests behaves badly, the most constructive thing is to tell staff about it. Usually we can sort out the problem. Kindly Lena

Simply the best possible location. Maybe would have been good if the Hostel had more planned events or tours, but it's very easy to meet people and the Stockholm tourist offices can take care of what to see.
