Great hostel, though more like a tiny hotel, as the reception is very far from common area so not really a good place for socialising. Everyone in the common area downstairs tends to be quiet, it needs some character or some life somehow. And stop charging for bed sheets, get with the times.

Facilities are nice especially for their 10+ mac or window computers. One thing to remark: no curtain at the bed, if you stay with some other impolite guests it would be quite annoying.

Great hostel with friendly staff. You could not ask for a better location either. That said, the room we booked on hostel world registered as ANOTHER type of room on their end. The staff was helpful in fixing it for us but double check with the hostel before hand just in case. We werent the only ones that got a wrong room.

Hi there, I am so glad you ended up having a nice stay! I looked through your booking, and I think you guys broke the record in number of staff notes. None of the receptionist have been able to figure out what went wrong, because just like you said, you booked a double bed ensuite room, and for some reason the Hostelworld booking system allocated you to a double bed with shared bathroom. I'm going to Dublin soon to meet with the Hostelworld staff, I will ask them how on earth that happened! Cheers, Lena

What I did not like about the hostel was that we had to take our shoes off. The floor was dirty and soon we had dirty socks and also the smell of other people's feet was terrible. The kitchen was small and there was not enough equipment. One day someone from the staff entered my room when I was not exactly dressed. We had to buy padlocks for the lockers and I have no use for them now. Nonsense.

Oh, my heart really sank when I read this. FIrst I thought perhaps you had confused us with another hostel, but I checked your booking, and you did stay for four nights in one of our nicest private ensuite rooms. It's just that I really can't recognize your description of City Backpackers. Like the kitchen for instance, I would describe it as big. It has two stoves and twelve fridges, and two tables, each with room for seven people. And smelly feet? Don't you think you are just a little bit harsh on our guests? I've never noticed a bad smell in the hostel. About the floors, I promise if everyone kept their shoes on they would really be dirty, but I can see how that can be annoying if you are used to walking around with shoes on in your house. In Sweden we would just never do that. And isn't that a part of the joy of travelling, that things are different from home? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your four days in Stockholm. It is beautiful in winter - and very clean, right? Kindly Lena

Hi, it's nice to hear you enjoyed the Up-Town Pub Tour! But you do know you paid for it, right? It's just 95 SEK with the first beer included, which is a reasonable price in my opinion, but not exactly free... But then again, since Sivan end the tour at a club where she gets you all in for free, I guess it adds up rather nicely. Some clubs in Stockholm charge 220 SEK, and 60 SEK for a beer is not uncommon. Still, I wouldn't go so far as to call our tours free. Just a little bit subsidized. Cheers, Lena, Chief of the City Backpacker Fun Squad

A average level hostel which is near the City-terminal, but a little bit expensive

This was a great hostel. Good, spacious kitchen facilities. Like all the hostels I've been to in Sweden, sheet rentals are not included and are about 5 euros. I'd definitely stay there again.

Overall a very nice hostel in a good location. Not the cheapest in town, but definitely worth the money because this is one of the most cleanliest and cozy hostels I've stayed in all my travels. The staff is very nice and helpful and the hostel itself is brand new with very good atmosphere.

Ah, you noticed the floors! I will pass this on to the owner, he will be so pleased. This is the first time someone mentions the wooden floors in a review, and he's put so much effort into them. I'm also happy you made good use of our ice skates, I just had them all sharpened. Thank you for the great review, and welcome back anytime! Kindly Lena

Great location (walkable from train station) and the kitchen area is great for meeting other backpackers. The free pasta doesn't hurt either!
