Sam was an excellent host (helpful with the laundry services, giving directions and other queries), and the hostel itself was very clean and truly cosy!

Location is good, it takes about 7-8 min to Central Park and you can see some sightseeing around there. Facilities are clean and I was happy with my choice.

Just like its name, it is very COZY. Its location is also nice, 10min walk from MRT. We even walked back from Liu He Night Markets. Sam is very very nice and gave us very useful recommendation on our 1-day trip planning. Will stay there again if go back.

This was hands down the BEST hostel I have ever stayed in, and I have been in quite a few. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you get what you want while in Kaohsiung. The hostel seemed to have a great mix of people both working and staying there. You can not go wrong with Cozy Planet Hostel.

Cozy Planet is just that- cozy! This hostel was a real gem! It had a trendy, vintage feel and the owner- Sam, is such an awesome guy! As soon as I arrived I was excited to be staying here because Sam was greeting the other backpackers as they woke up, and he was ready to provide you with any info. you might need. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the beds are as soft as marshmallows! I met a lot of cool people here and was sad to leave! Wonderful hostel! I really recommend it!

This hostel was a great place to stay, and I'll definitely be back. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. The aboriginal millet wine was delicious, too! The only real problem I'd say existed was that the toilet in the 6 bed dorm was locked for a lot of the time.

The hostel is actually laid out into apartment type suites that are immaculately clean, and beautifully furnished and decorated. When I stayed, there was no one else in the suite except my friend and I, so it was like having a gorgeous apartment all to ourselves for the weekend. I would definitely stay here again.

Really have enjoyed my stay. Great staff that make you feel welcome. Great comfy beds with clean linen. Showers good with hot water and pressure. Is a kitchen to cook if needed, but no microwave. Lounge is great size to hang out in but dvd's would be nice. Really enjoyed the stay. Even came back here again when back at Kaohsiung. Place is modern also, feels like home. Reasonably close to met also.

Great experience. Hostel staff even accommodated by dragging in a mattress when we booked the wrong number of beds.

Had a great 2-night stay early this February. It's located just a few minutes walk from a subway station, and there's a 7-11 directly across the street (i.e. your morning cup of coffee!). It's super clean inside and very cozy. I had the place to myself for an entire afternoon and was, thus, able to lounge on the couch and catch up my international news broadcasts on their cool flatscreen. There's a night market nearby, too. And my room had a balcony with a killer view of the city! Staff's great.

The hostel was modern and clean. It had a computer and telephone available for guests to use. It lacked a few things, like a decent welcome, and there's a big list of rules on the wall which is a bit off-putting. You also get given your linen prison-style so you make and strip your bed. It's a good place to stay, just not as good as it could be.

Owner Comment (Show)
Dear Kate Please allow us to explain a few things, especially in response to those points that you made. From past experience, both in my extensive travels, staying in countless hostels, and from our own hostel experience, we have found that a well informed guest is a happy guest. Not only do we have the rules of the hostel clearly displayed but we also have signs and notices all over the hostel for the guests convenience. For example reminding guests to make use of our free laundry facility today otherwise it might mean no clean clothes tomorrow, Do your bit to save the planet and make use of our free bicycles to explore the city... Regarding the issuing of bed linen. This is standard hostel practice and this shows the guest that they are receiving fresh sheets, which in my mind is absolutely essential. As our name states, we pride ourselves on creating a cozy environment for our guests and work hard at providing for our guests every need. We are sorry that your experience has been less than satisfactory however we appreciate your opinion. We encourage all guests to discuss problems with us as they occur so that we may provide the best possible service!

Cozy Planet is a very nice place to stay, the staff are nice, especially Sam and Mark of course including Lulu as well. :) They provide us "local" tourist tips (where to go), and night time we will gather in the living room to enjoy tv program together. Hehe ^^ I will said "if i am going back to Kao Shiung, i am going back to cozy" thanks
