The staff is the most helpful you will ever find-anywhere. Plus, you're only a 3 minute walk from Starbucks. Staying here is like booking a room on Main Street, Disneyland. You are at the heart of Chengdu.

Located in a tourist hutong (alleyway a la Chine) so there is stuff to see, eat, smell, do, etc. Great open-air digs which gives it a nice atmosphere. For the social media fiends, there's a wifi network offered with FB and Twitter unblocked.

Every week I come back to this place, and I have a wonderful time! The only thing that needs attention is the noise level of visitors coming and going, and those talking outside the rooms at night. The best part is that there is no other hostel with such a great location.

Two times I asked for a rice dish and they had run out of rice, and didn't seem to be able to get any. Food is not available during the afternoon. A staff member has a baby and baby music is played; babies also cry loudly. We don't want to hear baby music or babies crying. On the positive side, one lady staff member was very helpful with the washing machines and the very odd dryer machines. But the dryer machines take six hours to dry the clothes. Spin dryers would do it in one hour.
