Generally it was very good and people were very nice and helpful. A bit expensive for what it had but I think we were paying for the location.

There are worse places yes. But just don't expect the place to be clean. Dirty place, with cockroaches too. There's also always something broken. Some of the staff is nice, others are just there. They don't really all seem like they care much. The atmosphere is good. Nice and chill, and always a party somewhere outside. So it's perfect. The fact that they have AC (that's only on after dark) is a big plus. Really the biggest issues are the cleanliness and the maintenance of the facilities.

Great location but that was it. The staff weren't that friendly. The breakfast was a JOKE. They put it out at 7am and the cold milk soon turns to warm as no one changed it. There was no knife to spend our toast. The internet didn't work and to top it off on the first day there was no running water for 1-2hrs

Wifi did not work in my dorm, excellent hostel.

We booked a private two person room but were instead given a double bed with two bunk beds... aka not the room we reserved that also happened to be directly next to the bar. The windows had slits so it felt like everyone was in the room with us. Music never turned off at midnight as expected. Water was cold, limited, and turned off without warning. People were nice, good activities, but AC was only allowed to be on past 6pm and the heat/humidity was overwhelming.

This was the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The setting is so nice and social, as well as comfortable. I had a private room and it was perfect. Each person at the hostel has a security box to use. The bar area is very social each night. Located near many restaurants, and in the old city. Staff is really friendly and responsive.

Its very far from the cartagena beach and the actual city, its like 30 min walking to "boca grande" beach, but its also in the middle of "old town" and there is a supermarket 2 blocks away, buses, boats 5 minutes away, that how you go to other places o BARU, san andres etc. and 10 minutes away from the airport.

Nice common area, bar and activities, but the rooms are not worth the money and the dorm rooms are very cold, sine the aircon is regulated by the staff

this is kinda big hostel, where look 100 people can stay. Each room has security locker just for your passport/ cash, so it is relatively safe. Dont expect breakfast. it is just fruit and bread.

This place is a humdinger. Met some people with bed bug bites though, which is not a ripper.

Definitely a party hostel. If this is what you are looking for then it is great. If you are trying to have a more quiet night this is not the place. Lots of fun people to meet and a good bar. The best thing they offer is salsa and bachata classes!!

Very over priced hostel. The staff and location are the positives. rooms are not very clean, and the mattress protector wasn't changed or cleaned between guests. toilet doors were broken and didn't lock. breakfast was very poor. showers were cold. kitchen was okay.

Very open and friendly atmosphere, AC in the rooms is nice and the wifi is great plus the location is hard to beat. Even though breakfast is only cereal fruit and bread it's nice that there is one. Staff was very nice and answered all of our questions politely. They weren't super knowledgeable about open/closing hours for certain museums so do a little of your own research (for example the castle opens at 8 AM). Overall very satisfied with the stay

Great staff, and great atmosphere to meet other travelers. Safe and convenient location. AC works great, which is 100% necessary to sleep at night. Me gusta.

Great hostel and excellent location. Meet some great people here. It's right in the middle of everything. Just too loud to sleep in but that depends on if you enjoy late night partying or not.

It's a huge hostel, a good chill out area, there is no charger plug available for the top bunk, it was clean, the breakfast worth the price, it's in a good location, the service at the reception wasn't good because they are always busy due to amount of people hosted. When I was doing the check out, I returned the sheets and a label that was stuck in my bed for an employee at the front desk and he told me to take the sheets to another room of an impolite way, as if I already knew that.

Great location, and good guides on what to do. It would be nice though to have some places with aircondition during the days, as Cartagena is very hot. They have though air-con during the nights. Also could be good with locks to the dorm-rooms.

The staff were great, and the location was excellent. The wifi didn't work very well (if at all) in the rooms and the dorms are never locked, so take a lock to use the lockers under the beds. The showers are all external to the rooms and there are not many, but they are clean. The breakfast was very basic and simple with stale bread for toast, sugary cereal and some fruit. Ok for a few nights.

The internet connection better, for many times I couldn't connect my gadgets, to be honest the connection was the worst I've connected. Another thing I thought you can be better is the work times of Air conditioner, We were in a really hot city and the Air conditioner don't work during day. that is crazy. Except it the hostel is really nice, I loved stayed there and if I go to Cartagena again I'll really consider the idea to stay again in El Viajero hostel.
