Rooms are all facing the common areas, almost always can hear some sort of noise 24/7. If you are looking to use the shower or the bathroom you have to walk through common areas to get there. Good internet was the best part about this hostel.

Pretty stale vibe, but it's a viajero (chain) so you can't necessarily expect anything super nice or personal. They're helpful, it's a good bang for your buck but nothing special in the realm of hostels. They are great for organizing events though

This was a nice hostel with activities, a bar and breakfast included. Rooms were clean, showers had mud on occasion from people visiting Totumo mud volcano. Showers were hit or miss for water pressure and heat level, but it was so hot during our stay that we wanted cold showers! AC was on at night in rooms- amazing. Although be very careful if you are in the way of the AC fan, one night I slept there and was shivering!! The front desk was very helpful and nice. Wifi and computers worked well.

Good location, but there are a ton of hostels in this area. I thought this hostel was very overrated. They really need a pool. Rooms were very hot, even with AC. Noisy as well from the street.

Great location, wifi on from 6pm-11am, cold showers, good wifi, nice breakfast, events in bar until 12, chill TV room. You have to put on the sheets on your bed.

The hostel has a fantastic location but the dorm was a little bit cramped. Staff are really friendly and helpful and there are nice common areas but the kitchen is small for the size of the hostel and not very well equipped

Located in the centre of old town, but quite far away from the other popular hostel and nightlife area. Showers and bathrooms were always super clean, however would recommend you choose somewhere with a pool to cool down in the Cartagena heat.

Spent 3 nights in this hostel in a 6 bed dorm. One of the best hostels I've stayed in in terms of atmosphere and staff. Hostel is set up really well with rooms coming onto a courtyard. Wifi everywhere, air con in all rooms, great brekky. Only suggestion is to have locks on the dorm rooms. Would 100% stay here again.

Fine hostel. Booked it because it was a Hostel World choice and I thought it'd be a really cool vibe. Perhaps other days and seasons are more fun, but I'd recommend going to a hostel with a pool or nice indoor space w/ air conditioning (El Viajero's bar is outdoors) because cartagena is SO hot that people flock to places to cool off. Everyone at Viajero was just melting from the heat in the chairs outside, but not really talking to each other.
