Staff not really friendly. Blood in sheets. Room very hot even at night. More than 35' at night so very hard to sleep. Very noisy.

Party hostel so dont expect too much sleep before 1am as they hold it outside all thebedroom doors. Staff are hit and miss the two girls that do the afternoon evening shift are hopeless and have no interest in helping anyone.

The hostel was mostly great, although I did get sick one night and needed to stay in a private room. Even though I offered to move my things from the dorm, he still charged me the full price for just five hours.

The room are very good, really big and have air conditioning.. It has a very good location, in the midlle of the walled city. Staff are really friendly.

The hostel is clean, the staff is nice and there's parties almost every night. The breakfast could be better, though, but that's a plus, not a must-have. So El Viajero is very nice overall.

I stayed in the annex across the street which is where the private rooms are. The shared bathrooms are cleaned throughout the day, which is a major plus. WiFi is incredibly slow. Cold showers (although that seems to be typical of most of the city). No laundry service despite their brochure that says they have it. A/C doesn't work all that well and room is sweltering hot. Great location in the Walled City. Overall seems to be very overpriced for what you get. Just an average hostel.

Loved staying here, staff are all amazing, helped me out with all my woes, from losing cameras or having my phone stolen. The place has a very friendly vibe and I would recommend to anyone to stay here!

Wonderful hostel and staff were so nice. Some issues with security toward end of stay but this was outside hostel at night. Although its prob a lot better location security wise then other hostels in area ie Luna.

Loved this hostel, a really friendly vibe-both staff and other travellers. When I arrived there were lots of people at reception at once for check-in/out/organising tours etc but the staff were great and Alfonso (who did my check-in) went out of his way to make sure I got all the info and a quick tour of the hostel. There was always a friendly face at reception! The free latin dance lesson was a highlight too...it got the whole hostel together (either participating or watching!) Gracias chicos!

I have stayed at many hostels but never felt compelled to write a review until now. I stayed at El Viajero in Cartagena for 7 days, and truly had an amazing time. Each and every member of the staff went above and beyond, making my friend and I feel like we were part of the hostel family. Thank you so much Alexander, Jesus, Cristian, Atzumy and everyone else at El Viajero. You made my week in Cartagena one of the best weeks of my life. I will always remember the time I spent at El Viajero.

I loved this hostel. The owner, manger, and rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The AC is a must as Cartagena can get smoldering hot. The map showing the places to go are a nice touch. I would definitely recommend it.

A really fun atmosphere with fun people hanging out and mingling. A fun and easy way to meet other travelers. And once we got back from being out, it was all quiet so we could sleep really well too! And the bathrooms were really nice for a hostel filled with shared dorms.

Big hostel in a really good location. Breakfast ok but it was easy to use the kitchen. The problem was the staff, most of them were not nice at all and when you asked them anything, it looked like they were doing a big favor answering. At night, they should find a better spot (which means not in front of the rooms!) to put the loud music, respecting those who want to sleep early. Even though, I think I would stay there again if I come back to Cartagena.
