I originally planned to only stay two nights but ended up booking another. Fantastic and helpful staff, perfect location, great environment, the hostel was being cleaned every time I returned back to the hostel. I cannot recommend it enough. I will definitely stay here for all future trips to Cartagena.

The hostel was in a super location (in the old town) and the air con was amazing. But the drinks at the moving bar were super expensive

El Viajero always has a decent quality according to a standard concept with airco, wide rooms, clean sheets and lockers under the dorms. Atmosphere is ok but there is a party atmosphere which probably not suits everyone Location is great, only negative point is the internet which does barely work.

Amazing location. Staff is more than correct and Margarita is an excellent manager. Hostel is huge so lots of people coming in and out so don't expect the "cozy" type of hostel. All rooms have air conditioning during the night (a big plus). Highly recommended!

not bad.. staff were pretty useless. Pretty good for meeting other cool people though with outdoor bar that gets pretty good before you go out. If you buy the playa blanca tour from them be careful of the speed boats that take you there it's F**KING dangerous and someone will die on them soon it was so dangerous other people on the tour were crying from fear the boat was going to tip in the ocean.

The place was great, but it was like sleeping in a disco if you wanted to go to sleep before 11 which we did both nights. I may not speak for everyone, but the majority of the 8 people I talked to in our dorm felt the same way.

Great place to meet people. Comfy beds, daily cleaning service. Friendly staff, though sometimes they took extremely long for simple tasks. No assistance with flight bookings and only limited with busses and tours. Security was an issue, you need to be buzzed in, but they opened for absolutely everyone all the time and you were not able to lock the rooms itself, which means that essentially everybody could enter the room and you needed to keep your things locked away at all times for safekeeping

Good location in town. The staff was very helpful and funny. The kitchen is too small for 80 people to share. It can get noisy at night with the only outside space open to all the rooms. The internet hardly worked. Overall I would recommend this hostel. Good value for the money in a good part of the town. Watch out late at night.

The staff and the atmosphere were awsome. The only poor thing were the bathrooms (not very clean) and the doorm could have been a little cleaner....

The hostel didnt had much atmosphere, some travellers were weird. The kitchen was very bad equiped, not much space to cook. the a/c run just during the night, no sleeping in possible. wifi was slow and just worked in certain areas. the lockers are under the beds, so be carefull with taking the bottombed, opening and closing the lockers is extrem loud if you wanna sleep.the 8 dorm was very spacious, the bathrooms were clean. mixed showers. no power outlets in bathrooms and just 2 in the dorm.

I had an awesome stay here, the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. Great atmosphere very easy to meet people which is always a positive especially when travelling solo. I really wanted to go back to cartagena and stay again but unfortunately I ran out of time.

Stayed in a private room in the annex, which is across the street from the main hostel. This area is another world from the main hostel, extremely tranquilo! The space was perfect for me, access to the main hostel for information & socializing, but a spacious relaxed area to rest & sleep. The location of this hostel is perfect in my opinion, within the San Diego district, which is beautiful & is probably the most central location to access all parts of the area by foot!
