We booked a dorm, but changed it for a nice twin with balcony with a view, since the dorms are damp and humid in the cellar without windows. There is also just one "bathroom" for the dorms, with the shower over the squat toilet. The four of us rather shared the twin instead, but it took them 5 rooms to show us this one that's at least human-friendly. English speaking staff almost equals zero. The town is full of small family run hotels that are not listed here, try there if you please.

Twin private room was fine. Shower was broken, though, and had to use it like a water hose. No restaurant or cafe in the hostel, or any hostel we visited in Fenghuang. Carpet had obviously not been cleaned it quite some time. Didn't provide towels, soap, toilet paper. I get annoyed when a hostel claims they're trying to save the environment so they don't provide you with things you obviously need and will have to use. You can go without washing sheets everyday etc, but not without a towel.

*Signage outside says different name.* Pretty centrally located yet away from crowded touristy alleyways. Small, cozy lobby; our group of 14 sat & talked in intimate comfort. Not sure abt food; drink menu in the evenings (didn't try it). HW showed no dorms avail; booked a twin online & FBH was able to put me in a 4bd dorm. Very small room; good for 1night. Squatter toilet; didn't see showers. FBH messed up friends' booking but rectified quickly. Rms weren't ready upon check-in.

The staff don´t speak English very good so it´s so difficult to communicate with them. They ignore me completely. The toilet are asian style and i don´t get used to it. The have no hitting in the rooms so it's so cold. I didn't like the hostel.

I had a fantastic time at the hostel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcomed me to play their drinking games at night time. The location is great as it is just a minute from the river and bridge and most importantly away from the loud annoying (and EMPTY)bars and clubs. Be aware the toilets are not Western. Xiangcaoxiong.
