Right across the road from the main station, staff were helpful and the room itself was decent, if on the small side. The ensuite however was a bit ridiculous, I imagine it was what a shower in an airplane might be like. The water from the shower would get all over the bathroom floor. It would have been nice if they had told us at the start that we had to 'request' housekeeping daily or it would not be done. A TV in the room would have been a nice touch and please include breakfast in the price!

I absolutely loved that each bed had its own socket + usb ports. The hostel was clean and in a perfect location, but the bathroom and the toilet were very small and we didn't get new toilet paper after we ran out on the first night.

I normally don't stay in huge large scale hostels, but generator hamburg was nice. YEp the showers are tiny but you can go shower in the huge one up the corridor. Plenty if wifi locations and a nice bar. Lots of tours leave here

Attach WC and Bath is too small. One cant move easily. If they could combine WC and bath as one, then it will be good. otherwise the hostel is very very gooooooooooooooood.

Fairly normal large chain hostel. Staff were a tad unhelpful at times. Rooms were clean, the bar was great and the staff behind it were awesome. I'd recommend staying here.

Hostel was easy to find, free wi-fi in the entire hostel (including rooms), large open spaces to hang out and meet people. The free walking tour was great and they pick you up from the hostel. New and modern, clean. Ensuite showers are extremely small. Friendly staff, comfortable beds-each bed has own light, usb and plug. lockers located under bed.

found hostel to be a bit sterile and lacking in character. though was really clean and cheap to stay compared to other hostels in the area. reception were reasonably friendly. Found Cuban guy at hostel bar to be knowledgeable for bars to go to and such like. also the lockers were €2 for 24 hours, which is a bit steep for me. couldnt bring in own food, which meant having to buy food from the hostel cafe or eating elsewhere. close to main station just make sure you come out of the right exit.

This hostel is conveniently situated and has the facilities you desire, including a bar. The bathrooms, as mentioned by others are the smallest I have ever seen, and they were stingy with toilet paper. Otherwise it was great.

Great hostel, I met the most amazing people here. Staff were always helpful. Couldn't ask for a hostel closer to the main train station. I normally don't like big chain hostels but this one changed my mind.

Nice place, tiny shower space, decent breakfast but it is 5.50€, with no kitchen facilities it is the easiest option though. Loads of space to sit and relax, but perhaps not the best dynamics in terms of places to meet people, though perhaps I wasn't trying as was quite busy working, but did the trick, and a good price.

Very good hostel next to the train station which gives perfect access to the entire city. The staff is helpful and abundant. The rooms are clean with good pillows and sheets. There is a common area plus a bar with cheap drinks. All in all, it was a good place to come back to every night of the weekend.

Everything was great except that the shower and bathroom inside the dorm was soooo tiny...like an aeroplane bathroom! I ended up using the bathroom shared with the whole floor instead for this reason, which was a pain. Otherwise great though, friendly staff, clean and best location!

This hostel was practically a hotel. So big, clean, efficient nice staff, very modern. We were highly impressed with our stay at Generator! Excellent value for the buck, I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Hamburg. Thank you!!

Generator was a great hostel. Clean, comfortable. You just step out of the main station and it is right outside. No kitchens but there is an Asian food place around the corner and other food places next to the McDonald's across the street. Compared to the other places that we stayed in Hamburg, this one was definitely the best. If I was to visit again, I would definitely stay there.

Great location!! Staff was friendly, beds were super comfortable, nice that they had a bit of a cafe handy to purchase drinks and food, free city maps with things to do. Bring your own lock for your luggage drawer under the bed. And everyone wasn't kidding the bathrooms are super tinny, little hard to manouver to wash face and brush teeth. I had an 8 person room. But other than that you can't beat the price.

This hostel is good if you are with a group of friends coming to Hamburg to Party. Not a hostel vibe, no kitchen, quiet common room etc. Use showers in hallway, in rooms are very small! Towels are 6 euro to buy, no renting, wifi drops out a lot! Staff could have more knowledge of surrounding areas.. the security staff at the front are the friendliest and help you the most :) also one girl on reception sorry didn't get name, with hijab scarf on, was very helpful and friendly, Thank you!!
