Incredibly knowledgeable and down-to-earth staff, in one of the best locations in Skye: backing on to th Cuillin Ranges!!

Well my stay might have been slightly marred by the fact that I don't have a vehicle, and it was quite a trek to get in, although beautiful scenery along route. Moreso, it was a little frustrating how loud the common room was, even at midnight. It sounded more like a pub than a hostel. There was also a lot of midges in the bathroom, since one of the windows was broken and wouldn't close properly. The kitchen was tidy and clean though.

Very enjoyable stay. Good weather was, of course, welcome, but upstairs in the hostel (the dormitories) got very hot. Unfortunately the midges were out in force, obliging us to keep the windows shut!

at the end of the world (car needed) but good for walking/hiking (Fairy Pools nearby), access street to YH on new tar, YH all day/night open, own keys. Breakfast option possible against payment. Bad point really are the thin walls- every word/snoring/watefall outside YH can be heard. Good warm heating and comfortable bedding though spring mattress is bog standard and the room is long-ish with no table to sit at. Private room had no bunk bed but 2 single ones. Friendly helpful staff.

A most enjoyable stay. I was particularly impressed with the friendliness and effectiveness of the two wardens on duty during our stay

Everything about this hostel is remarkable - the location (gorgeous and remote, just note that it's about a 20 minute drive to a grocery store or restaurant), the atmosphere, the other people staying there. The staff are unbelievably helpful and happy to serve as your main source of information about the island (important since there is no cell service or wifi). This was the friendliest (and cleanest!) hostel we've ever stayed in - thank you for providing such a wonderful place to stay!

Glenbrittle is a great hostel. One of the smallest we've stayed in, still it had everything we needed. It's a beautiful setting, right beside the Cuillins. The lounge and kitchen were clean and comfortable, washing was easy to do and the drying room for wet coats etc was very useful. The staff were so friendly and hospitable and really couldn't do enough for the guests. It is the "greenest" hostel we've stayed in, lots of recycling going on. We'll be back!
