Goodnight Hostel is set in an 18th-century building which Hostelworld guests say 'feels like a big shared house' and is 'surrounded by restaurants'. Our users praise the 'excellent' staff more than anything else, saying they are 'always willing to help'; one visitor said 'everyone was really nice and very helpful with giving advice on how to get to places, where to go and what to do'. Guests have also highly recommended the free walking tour. We like that this hostel not only makes 'delicious, homemade' pancakes for breakfast but that they're also served until noon.

The Goodnight Hostel - Lisbon has the perfect location in the heart of Lisbon's historical downtown area, on a pedestrian street parallel to the famous Rua Augusta, very close to the city's great monuments, and the best nightlife.
Our building is beautiful and full of history, having been built in the 18th century. Its got huge windows, nice balconies and simply amazing decor. Were totally prepared to receive friendly/cool travellers who wish to enjoy, relax and learn about Lisbon and Portugal in a very chilled atmosphere.
Our facilities include twelve rooms with comfortable beds, four stylish bathrooms (each with high-pressure hot showers), two common rooms, a cosy DVD/PlayStation room, a nice big kitchen with cooking equipment, free Internet and Wi-Fi for personal laptops.
Weve got the best location - Baixa, or downtown Lisbon, is the heart of the city. It stretches from the riverfront to the main avenue (Avenida da Liberdade), with streets named according to the shopkeepers and craftsmen who traded in the area. Built in the 18th century, this was Europe's first great example of neoclassical design and urban planning, and one of the finest European architectural achievements of the age (it is currently being considered to be listed as a World Heritage Site).

I love the street where the hostel is at, near all the attractions, and the fact that it's pedestrian - no cars! It makes it very clean and quiet. We hear from the guests a lot that they like it, too.

Generally, our guests are chilled students and people already in the job market; it's what we're best prepared for. But we appreciate variety; we encourage families with children or babies, and 40+, too.
We alternate between wine tasting, meals, and food tasting in the hostel...There's also an organ, guitar, and a beautiful movie room for those who want to relax. It's not a 'crazy' party hostel at all - our fun comes from a healthy atmosphere of interaction, laughter, and excellent conversations that occur naturally because all the details of a good hostel are coming together.
I usually send our guests to the old area of the Alfama neighbourhood. It's got our 'secret' church; it's amazingly beautiful and particular. Travellers are tired of churches sometimes and don't go into all of them, but the one we recommend amazes them.Hostelworld Guests Say
A stay in this hostel makes you want to move to Lisboa and ask the staff for a job. Because it\'s just a joy to be around everyone working here: Ottilie, Robert, Sofia, Martina and Alicia. They are all very warm and helpful. The location is exellent, it\'s downtown and a good starting point to go out, do a tour or go shopping. Do the free walking tours, guided by Verre and Aldovar. For me it\'s the nicest, best hostel I\'ve been at ever. Awesome!
