I had a really great time at Pongyi. Masaki, the owner, is so kind and has a lot of good reccomendations and stories for you. Also the fact that the hostel is in an old kimono shop makes it really lovely, sweet and an interesting place to stay. Such a charming and wonderful place. Great atmosphere right from the start. Owner Masaki-san makes you feel at home and got much useful information and many good tips about Kanazawa. Also guesthouse is located only around 15min walk to samurai quarters and city center. :)Such a charming and wonderful place. Great atmosphere right from the start. Fantastic hostel. This is the type of hostel you should always be hoping to arrive at. There was nothing that I could fault with this Pongyi except that it made me want to say in Kanazawa way too long!
Location was close to the station and n a lovely part of town right on the canal. Friendly atmosphere, fantastic japanese style rooms and great facilities.
Masaki is legend and makes staying in Kanazawa a breeze with his great local knowledge.Fantastic hostel. This is the type of hostel you should always be hoping to arrive at. There was nothing that I could fault with this Pongyi except that it made me want to say in Kanazawa way too long!
