This was a good base for exploring Dubrovnik. We received a warm welcome and were well looked after throughout our stay. The guesthouse is quiet with only three rooms, but the kitchen facilities are good. The walk into Dubrovnik feels safe and at 25 minutes we didn't feel was too far. The buses are regular if you feel lazy.

We had a pleasant stay; maria doesn't speak a lot of English, but is very friendly. The hostel is clean and has good facilities. Not the best place for socializing (only three dorms), but Dubrovnik offers plenty other facilities to do that.

Guesthouse Maria is probably one of the more odd places I have stayed, Maria speaks very little english but is more than happy to help with anything, she's a bit of a laugh. The rooms are a little dated but nice enough, with plenty of space. The kitchen and common area is good, you feel like you are in an apartment and mingling with the other guests in the other 2 rooms is almost inevitable. Make sure you ask for the aircon to be turned on. Airport pick-up is available by Maria's son-in-law.
