good location, but the reciption closes at 11h pm... too early

We stayed 4 nights at this hostel. For 2 of these nights there was a group of mainly teenage girl students from Japan. The behavior at night time was terrible. Banging of doors yelling between rooms and at no time was there any supervision. We had to go out of our room which was in the middle of their rooms, and yell at them in English to go to bed and be quiet. This was at 10.30 pm. Worst behavior we have encountered. Push button showers were terrible and not hot.

Very strange atmosphere, with a lot of inmigrants. It looks like a charity house.

Location is good, but room facilities is old, the water of sink flows very slowly, and in such a cold weather, the water for showering is not warm enough. Breakfast should be improved.

The bathroom is aweful, its outside and there is absolutely no hot water, you can understand with the cold in brugge that is not nice. Besides, I paid for a private room, they told me it was, and it wasnt, it was a room inside another room, so in the end it was the same because i had to pass through that room full of 12 people in order to get to mine. The price iis not fair at all

The location is perfect, in the middle of the center. Unfortunatelly the shower wasnt that clean. Hairs everywhere. We asked the front desk if somebody could clean it but they told us it was too busy. Breakfast is fine, bread and cereals. Free wifi but it was not working at the 1st floor. Staff was nice though. I hope a good time.

HI is very conveniently located, right next to Gravensteen castle, within walking distance from the town centre. Also, clean professional just like other HI hostels.

Very Institutional! They charge 3 euros-a-night extra for not being a member of Flemish Youth Hostels. How many flemish youth hostels are there in the world? Full membership costs you 60 euros The location was good. Rooms were OK. Nothing great. Probably cheapest in Ghent. Breakfast was great! They close at 11 and close the common areas also at 11 - so don't go here if you want to hangout or make friends. They have a decent bar which also closes at 11.

Very nice budget hotel

The rooms are nice and clean- however it would be good if the shower wasn't "button" operated. The breakfast was horrbile.

i think there must bue an age limit for sharing the room, i had to share the room with a woman of almost 80 years and i was kind of unconfortable because she made weird noises when she sleep and sharinf the bathroon was not a good experience

Great location to the centre (it's just close enough that you can walk there in about 5 minutes, just far enough away for some peace and quiet), almost right next to the Gravensteen -- sick! The rooms were clean, spacious enough. One of the showers was clogged and needed reno, but aside from that the place was efficient and well kept. I thought the staff was wonderful -- VERY kind and helpful, did an excellent job of making you feel comfortable and informed. Would stay again. Gent > Brugges

Totally Great! close to everything u can do in Gent!! great staff but they may be more informative about the city... the room awesome, clean, great bed, bathroom in the 4 p room made the stay as comfortable as it could have been !!!

Very nice hostel, bathrooms in the rooms which was great buy only one electrical plug in the room. Good breakfast

Bathroom was not clean. Very well located though, and an excellent breakfast! Beautiful view from the dorm window.

This hostel was your typical HI hostel, they are good hostels but if you are young and looking to meet people and party, you could probably find a better location. Other than that though, no complaints... warm bed, functioning shower, and breakfast included. I also felt that the staff at this hostel were the best staff I have ever encountered at a HI hostel. I would stay here again!

I found the person over the other side of the desk to be quite friendly, and he gave a lot of information to do for the day.
