Everything in the hostel was pretty good, nothing was excellent though. I think its a good deal for Gent and i would recommend it as a good hostel, but not great. No complaints.

Is quite cold, it could use a better common area and the breakfast is too poor. Apart from that the staff is very kind and helpful young people, the location is unbelievably beautiful and it's the only youth hostel in the city, so always a good choice!

Just the blanket is not very clean there. Everything else is OK. Breakfast includes apples. Io do not see the breakfast including fruits from other hostels.

A decent hostel situated close to the centre of Gent. The rooms are fairly spacious with ensuite bathrooms. The bathrooms are good although I do think they need a bit of maintenance as they were quiet grimy in areas, with a much needed lick of paint required. This I feel should be do with the rest of the hostel, just to brighten it up internally. The staff are extremely friendly and were great to talk to. A small bar and seating area are present which are good if you just want to chill.

We stayed 4 nights at this hostel. For 2 of these nights there was a group of mainly teenage girl students from Japan. The behavior at night time was terrible. Banging of doors yelling between rooms and at no time was there any supervision. We had to go out of our room which was in the middle of their rooms, and yell at them in English to go to bed and be quiet. This was at 10.30 pm. Worst behavior we have encountered. Push button showers were terrible and not hot.

Very strange atmosphere, with a lot of inmigrants. It looks like a charity house.

Owner Comment (Show)
Early January 2012 we did accommodate - during a few days - a group of people who's house had burned down and for whom the local authority could not immediately find a new accommodation. We apologise if the presence of these people in our hostel had a negative impact on your stay.

Location is good, but room facilities is old, the water of sink flows very slowly, and in such a cold weather, the water for showering is not warm enough. Breakfast should be improved.

The bathroom is aweful, its outside and there is absolutely no hot water, you can understand with the cold in brugge that is not nice. Besides, I paid for a private room, they told me it was, and it wasnt, it was a room inside another room, so in the end it was the same because i had to pass through that room full of 12 people in order to get to mine. The price iis not fair at all
