Great place to relax and meet other travellers in Ilha Grande. Recommended.

Great location, in the middle of jungle, with humingbirds flying around and banana tree growing in front of our dorm. Loved the atmosphere, so peaceful and chillout. Very nice dorms with ensuite bathroom. However we were there during off season and only one staff member spoke English.

Great location on the edge of the jungle, but just a short walk from the beach. Breakfast was good, and we stayed in a nice little cottage for 2-3 persons. I can highly recommend this place for anyone going to Ilha Grande!

very nice atmosphere there, almost in the rainforest. staff could not speak english except of one girl.. i stayed in the 6-bed dorm, which is in a separate house and not like usual dorms, more like a little apartment, but with only beds and a bathroom. the room it self looked clean, but there was a really strong smell... which comes, i suppose, from the bathroom and because of the very high humidity.

very good quality/price ratio it's not located in the citycentre, but you have to walk about 10min from the port. but on the other hand you enjoy a calm, idyllic virgin forrest feeling. you've got your own little bungalow well equipped. everything is pretty and clean. the staff is friendly and helpful. there's no vermin. the offered meal ist excellent. for only 18R$ you get fresh brazilian food all you can eat. breakfast is also lovely offered.

I reaslly liked this hostel. It was off the beaten track a bit, up a hill and a little hard to find, but once there th rooms were really clean (cleaned every dady) and the breakfast was really good. The staff spoke limited english, but were helpful. I would definately stay here again. It was nice to be in the rainforest, it felt very chilled out.

Very happy to stay here. Great breakfast, nice showers. Great location, although not very central. Doesn't really matter as the distances are so small.

A great hostel! The bungalows in the forest are clean and spacious and well maintained. The breakfast is great, the meals that the hostel put on each night are delicious and great value for money and the hostel has a great feel to it. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Really nice hostel! A little bit hidden but absolutely worth the walk. It´s not at the beach but you will be in the middle of nature and still it´s an island so just a 5 minute walk to the beach. The staff is really nice helping you out where to go, they accept creditcards, the breakfast is really nice and please stay for dinner as well because it´s awesome! Dorms are big and clean.

Really nice place, good facilities and breakfast, helpful staff. I just can't complain about anything in there =) The meal they propose at night might seem a bit expensive but if you're too lazy to cook it's very nice and better value than in the village !

We stayed in Hi Holandes on Ilha Grande for a couple of nights and we loved it. It was peaceful, very nice staff and the hostel was very clean. When we arrived the room we had booked was without power so the girl in the reception gave us another room with power. We enjoyed our stay there. There was a great atmosphere, the breakfast was delicious as well as the caiparinhas they served. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome and giving us a pleasant stay.

It was a good hostel, lovely character up a hill. That was also the thing that was not working for us... carying all our luggage up the stairs and then we didnt find directions up there. Some people helped us directing but i think they should put more signs up that road.

Everything is fantastic in this hostel, eventhough it was the most expensive hostel of my trip. If you book the 6 people room and you stay at the first floor, you will enjoy a 2 people room actually! They have occasional problems with internet connection and electricity, but honestly, who cares about this when you have so many beaches and nature to visit in this wonderful island? Do not miss their dinner, so good and so cheap.

We had a number of issues with this hostel. Our toilet didn't fill properly so wouldn't flush (when I say wouldn't fill, it didn't fill over a whole night), and when we asked staff they said it was normal. The wifi is terrible and very slow when it is connected but to be expected on an island. No air con is the main complaint, Ilha Grande is very humid so without air con you are sleeping in a bath of your own sweat! Breakfast was good though, location is average and a solid walk from the ferry.

Very nice hostel! Rooms were comfortable with renovated bathrooms. The only negative comments I can make was that the hostel is a bit of a walk from the port given that there are no cars on the island. However, there are guys with carts who will take your luggage up for a good price. Also, you should bring one of those elongated hexagon shaped power adapators because the regular adaptors will not fit. The staff dont really speak english, but make a very good effort to help you out in any way!

Amazing hostel, everyone I met there said the same. I was only meant to stay for 3 nights, and ended up staying for 7... would stay here again in a heart beat. Good breakfast and dinner, fairly priced bar, and great staff.
