The broken sink in room 416 should be fixed. And if a bunch of youn people is staying at the hostel it should be taken care of that they do not keep people awake forever, especially with slamming doors.

Pretty much excellent throughout - it's central to Davie Village and staff are excellent. Mostly spotless throughout and comfy bunks.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in! The free breakfast each morning was amazing and the hostel is in a great location with easy walk to the beach and city centre. I had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Easy going, pleasant place to stay in a great area in Vancouver. One of the better options when staying in this area, ideal that you're not on Granville St or Davie St, so it is a lot quieter.

Great, quiet location, about 10 min. walk to touristy area. Includes good breakfast from 8am-9.15am. Kitchen to use might be a bit small at some times for such a big hostel.

Good location, quiet hostel with tv room, games room, good kitchen. However they mention that they have parking available but it's really only 4 spaces for the whole hostel, the breakfast only runs from 8 to 9.15 and the internet is so poor it's impossible to use!!! Clean and quiet and safe though.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, rooms, bathrooms, washrooms are clean. Location is definitely okay. Only thing that bothered us a bit are the hours of cleaning, when we got up in the morning we always had to wait to go into the bathroom.

Proper locks required on the 'Jack & Jill' bathrooms in the private rooms as our neighbour was able to get into our room which he did one morning by mistake even when the bathroom door was "locked" but otherwise it's a good hostel with great facilities in a very good location!!

It is a very nice and calm hostel. Not far away from the main streets, but just far enough to be able to get a good nights sleep :)

Warm beds, clean towels and bed linen supplied and lovely hot showers. Bathrooms very clean. Kitchens not so much, but they do their best, and given how people are in and out constantly I can see how it's tough to keep them spick & span. Bedrooms aren't generously sized, but this is a hostel. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. Friendly atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was enjoyable, however the wifi signal was very weak, and we were unable to pick up the free service for the most part of our stay.

The facilities were clean and comfortable and, with lockers and key cards, very secure. The hostel is within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the convention center but located on a quiet street. I can only think of two downsides: 1) you must bring your own lock for the locker or buy one from them (if you do buy a lock they will buy it back from you at reduced cost), and 2) breakfast starts at 8, so you might have to get it elsewhere if your activities begin early in the day.

Well equipped kitchen. Very helpful staff - our first time with HI so we didn't know the ropes but this wasn't a problem. Great place, got good sleep, near enough to walk some places and good bus es to the rest.

The Vancouver Downtown Hihostel is clean, well managed, quiet, and centrally located, near downtown facilities and the beach. The breakfast was generous, it was quiet and orderly, and the facilities were clean. What more can one expect when paying the low cost that is the rental rate. Thanks, HI, for making accommodation inexpensive, and all the facilities of downtown Vancouver available to the lowbudget travellor. Best wishes, resident of Smithers, BV

Your in the gayberhood, but whatever its clean and your close to lots of things, a cheap gym and swimming pool, your one block from 24 hour grocery, tonnes of gay bars, and a few regular ones. Good place, alot cleaner than the city center hostel.
