About

If you're seeking an unforgettable stay in Amsterdam, the Hans Brinker Hostel is the answer. We provide a vibrant atmosphere, affordable beds, basic amenities, and plenty of fun right in the heart of the city!

You can find us at the Kerkstraat, a cozy street in Amsterdam, just around the corner of the lively Leidseplein (the hotspot of Amsterdam's nightlife). We're also located at a five-minute walk from the Museumplein (where many museums are situated) and the Vondelpark (best place to relax in summer). You can find many bars, restaurants and clubs around our hostel, so you'll never have to walk far or catch a taxi!

But you don't need to get out of the Hans Brinker Hostel to have a good time. Come join us at our night bar, where you can enjoy delicious meals and snacks at unbeatable prices! Opening times are 15:00 - 03:00. We look forward to serving you at Brinker Bar.

In addition to all that you can come dance the night away in our club Onder Hans. The club is open from October to April with a changing program and opening times so you can rave the night away.

We don’t offer a kitchen or kitchen facilities. We do have a free luggage room. And of course, you can use our free WiFi throughout the building.

About the rooms: we have private rooms as well as dorms. The beds in the dorms differ from 4 up to 8 beds in one room. Our rooms are basic but provide the necessary function of sleep and comfort. There are lockers for each person to stuff your personal belongings into. You can also buy padlocks from our friendly receptionists if needed. Each bedroom has its own bathroom including toilet and shower. The quality of the showers are questionable, but they do work.

A stay with us includes a lively, social atmosphere, complimentary WiFi, fresh linen, and even a towel. Plus, our reception is open 24/7 to help you with anything you need—day or night.

To make the most out of your stay in Amsterdam, we provide tickets for many activities & attractions, like the Heineken Experience, a free walking tour, boat tours and a pub crawl. The tram stops are at three-minute walking distance from the hostel and the trams lead you straight to the Central Station. Coming from the Central Station take tram line 2, or 12 to the hostel; hop off after approximately 10 minutes, at tram stop Keizersgracht. You can also take the metro number 52 and get off at station Vijzelgracht.

In short: we're a good money-for-value hostel. If you want to have a fun time in Amsterdam and only use your bed to have a (short) night sleep and meet many people, this is the place for you! If you want to sleep a lot, maybe not so much.

Please read our Things To Note below before booking. For dorms, there's a maximum age of 40. Children under 18 are not allowed. Male guests who book in Female dorms will be required to rebook a mixed dorm/private room (please note this is subject to availability, cancellation fees will apply on the original booking).

Reservations for bachelor parties, please contact the hostel directly.

Rooms are comfy and adequate. Cleanliness is on point. Would be nice to have at least a communal kettle and cups to be able to make some tea/coffee, but overall great.

Really really hot and cramped rooms with one fan in the dead of summer, little to no storage or amenities in the room, very basic bare bones bunk beds and tight bathroom for six people. Front desk staff informed us we could get a free drink with a coin, bar said this was only valid before 5, then between 4 and 5pm. Very little seating or open spaces and drinks and coffee were very poor quality. Check-ins at 2pm took an hour and luggage drop was so full you couldnt even walk into the room.

Hostelworld says

Hans Brinker Budget Hotel is near Leidseplein, the Vondelpark, the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. Hostelworld guests have said this lively hostel offers good value for money, with comfortable beds and "basic but clean accommodation in a good location"; one visitor called it "truly rock-n-roll accommodation". According to our reviewers this hostel is ideal for weekend breaks, with a bar and a restaurant downstairs. We particularly like their spacious and colourfully-decorated common area.
