We changed our minds about staying at The Hanwoogd once we checked the rooms which were l tired in appearance , appeared dirty, smelt of acrid cigarette smoke. With only a dirty window got light. No air con and bathroom old and stained. The hostel reception was basic and little English . We moved on, not stopping and found a moe appropriate Hostel by the Muslim quarter

Though the location and the staff were ok, we didn't really like our stay. There wasn't really a place to chill and meet other people. They didn't serve breakfast which was ok for us, but sometimes it's nice to have breakfast at the hostel. Our room was small, very noisy and the bathroom was not clean at all. Normally we're not complainers, but the price we paid for this room was too high for what we got.
Don't stay here if you mainly want to visit sites located inside the city wall. Do stay here if you've already seen the major sites and want to chill. This hostel does NOT offer breakfast, and when we asked for the tour to Mount Hua, they only told us how to get there by ourselves. English spoken (limited to poor). Also stay here if you've been in China for a long long time and want to binge on western food: there's a Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Papa Johns, Burger King and Baskin Robin's near.
