This was pretty good value for money and the staff were nice and helpful. However the room was very small and the shower was a cold drizzle. Also, as far as I know, there wasn't a food service provided.

The hostel in 1 1/2 miles from nearest subway, and it takes about 40 mins on a bus to main train station an city centre. He female staff on reception are lovely one other member of staff is obviously rude to them and he gave us untrue info when we didn't book a tour with them which are very expensive, (make your own way to the warriors and its 1/3 of the price! Otherwise the facilities are ok but the shower is 1 stream of water even if it is powerful and all they need to do is change the head!

Great location, room was nice and clean along with the bathroom down the hall as well.

The hostel is very nice and clean. The staff are really helpful and have good english. the rooms are small but confi. A bit noisy at night. The light in the room is very poor but in general good value for money and perfect location.

Absolutely brilliant and helpful staff

Hard to say if location of this hostel is good cause it'a depends on what you want see. If you want to see terraccotas army it's far away from this place anyway. Our room was very small, not too clean and without towels. Have in mind that they have shared bathroom and internet only in the lobby.

Amazing staff. They were very helpful and interested in our trip. Really liked them.

The half-day tour to the terracotta warriors was a rip-off! ..........very poor guides, too much shopping and abandoned us on wrong side of city !! The hostel staff were very apologetic.

Have spent 2 nights here. Welcome staff, with good English, very helpful, the biggest thank to staff at the reception. Pleasant atmoshere and perfect location. The rooms like in the dorm, with one bathroom on the floor. All in all it is a good place to stay!

We aren't picky. It was nice enough it a good location. Not the best hostel I've ever stayed in but also not the worst. We stayed in a private double with shared bathroom. The room was small but we only needed it to sleep in. The hostel was clean enough and the staff pretty friendly. One small downside could be that there was a large group of Chinese guys and girl playing some kind of gay in the common room every night.. it made it a bit noisy if you wanted to relax there and use the internet.

Very nice hostel, lovely staff, rooms were clean and functional. Only complaints were, its a little on the pricy side and the wifi does not work in the upper floor rooms. But other than that a very nice place would be happy to stay again.

the staff is amazing, thank you so much mandi, cathrine, jodie and helen! They were so helpful and kind about everything!!! their boss is lucky to have these people working in his place. the location is beautiful and good, lots of nice and cheap food in the area. the room was nice and clean.

Rooms were cold. Also no hand towel or soap for the hand basins. Would have been helpful to have toilet paper in the toilet rooms.

I love Hanwood! I think I will be staying here every visit to Xi'an. The price is great, the staff is so friendly and wonderful, and they offer tours and bike rentals! It's a really good hostel.

I think everything was really wonderful. The staff attendant at the front desk was so incredibly nice, and her English was so impressively good! Made traveling so much easier as a result. The room was very comfortable and clean. I would have liked to have had more soap (those little bars of soap are useless), but that is my only complaint.

A warm welcome thanks to nice and helpful receptionnists (Kathryn), very well located. Rooms might need a little refreshment but it was comfortable and warm this winter.

I enjoyed my stay at Hanwood Youth Hostel. The staff was really a great advantage of the hostel, because they were able to answer my questions very clearly and to help me out with everything. Their English was perfect. Furthermore, the location of the hostel was pretty convenient. One little disadvantage I find was that the room of the dorm was pretty small and quite smelly. Also, the public bathrooms was quite cold to take a shower in (I traveled to Xi'an in the winter).

Double Bed Room was a bit too dark and the shared bathroom was not really welcoming, as it was very dark too and old. However, the total atmosphere is very nice, the location is great- just close by the big wild pagoda and the bus station to other places such as the terracotta armee museum are very close. The staff were very friendly and good english speaking! All in all I would recommend this hostel to others!

I stayed only one night in the private standar double bed room. One night was enough , the room is very tiny and noisy :( . Nothing to store your stuff !!! No space in the room , you can't move ! Good heater system. Sheets are no white but brown so you can't see if it is really clean. Staff is nice and helpful even if it seems you get the police station when you get there ( many questions ) Location is good. Wifi is good... The room I booked were overpriced !!!
