We really liked our stay at Hard Road! We planned to stay for 2 or 3 nights but ended up staying for a week :) The sports center is not at the hostel though, but in a nearby town. The atmosphere was really good, we made a lot of friends and went to the half moon party with a big bunch of people from the hostel. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby and the beach is like a stonethrow away.

Great place to stay for half moon parties as the hostel is in Ban Tai village. We ended up moving to Hard Road Villa across the road which had a big pool - same company, both places are great. Food at cafe is a little pricy but good wifi and definitely good backpacker atmosphere! Does take about 15 min taxi (100B anywhere) to get to Haad Rin to party.

Brilliant establishment, has an awesome cafe on the main road with dorms and a hot tub sunken in the ground, games console, computers and free wifi and good food too. Then they have a cool little beach bar about 50 yards away and right on the beach (free drink on arrival!) and lastly they have there villas which are about 100 yards away and are really close to the beach. The villas are clean and air conditioned also with wifi and a lush swimming pool. Cool sociable areas too!

Staff was very friendly & accommodating. Great common place to meet fellow travellers, however tennis court and basketball court were nowhere to be found, perhaps still under construction?

this is a great party hostel to meet people in but its in need of a serious look at its hygiene standards. okay so it was full moon week so the hostel was busy, but i arrived five days before full moon and the toilets were filthy then and remained that way. every single bathroom was broke in some way and the smell was awful, a pair of dirty boxes remained in the shower all the time i was there. the six bed dorm i was in had a serious line of mould on one wall and the whole room smelt damp.

I have been travelling and living in hostels for almost five months, and this is by far my best hostel experience. I loved the pool, the proximity to the beach, the peace and quiet between parties, the atmosphere, my dorm, everything! If I could, I would never leave! I will be telling everyone I meet to come here when they inevitably end up on Koh Phangan for the full moon or half moon party.

It was one of the best Hostels of my travel. The staff is really friendly and they make you feel like home! Right next to the beach! There rooms are very good (clean and big) I would recommend to stay in "Hard Road Villa" which is part of the Hard Road Cafe. But if there are free beds you can also change when you arrive. Good pool. There are plenty of shops to rent bikes next to the Cafe! Definitly woulg stay there again!!!!

Really liked this hostel! Stayed at the villas, and it was awesome. The atmosphere was so good, everyone working there was always smiling and happy. Chris and Om really did what they could to help us out, giving us advices and just doing my stay perfect. Would love to go there again!

Jeremie and the guys here make you so welcome and are very helpful too. The main accomodation place is massive and they have different package deals on for the jungle rave & full moon. Its great to be away from the hecticness of Hadrin and the place is growing bigger with 6-a-side court and tennis court. There beach bar where you get a free drink at is amazing (hammock haven) for chilling with a hangover and the pool also can do that job. Only minor thing I have is to keep the dogs out the pools

Loved this place. I stayed in a dorm at the villa. £4 A night and it had a pool! Chris, our host was brilliant, as were all the other guys working there. Would definitely stay here again.

Great spot, stayed in the villa and it was a great base for the full moon party. Our place had a pool, there was an all you can eat buffet for the full moon party. Staff was very accommodating for us. So far the cleanest place I've stayed in SEAsia.

The facilities in the hostel are pretty dirty, especially the showers. The situation gets worse if the hostel is busy. The hostel has potential but just doesn't seem to be managed too well.

Not very clean, no air conditioning, washrooms were dirty, rooms had no locks on them. Food was overpriced and not very good. Friendly and helpful staff was a plus, and the fact that you don't have to book for 3+ nights minimum.

Although it was the full moon and the place was busy, Jeremie and the rest of the crew were doing a great job with any of the guests requests. Also, great atmosphere and a very good place to meet people! So far the best hostel I've been to in Thailand. Ofri

Good to meet people - large dorms and good social areas! Dorms are never locked and you only get a small locker to keep your valuables in, saying that when I was there no1 lost anything / had anything stolen! kind of in the middle of nowhere (especially when it is raining). Food there is ok but can take a long time to come once ordered. WIFI is good. toilets and showers are accessed by walking outside so in monsoon season is not very nice walking over soggy woodchip with puddles!
