Hostal Casa de Mouat - B&B Reviews

The hostel is nice with a very nice little cafe downstairs, very friendly people. The only thing is the bad neighbourhood, we left after one night cause we didnt feel safe in that area (after several locals warned us not to go there). Hot water in the shower, but not if someone using the gas for the water in the kitchen, its the same gasbottle that you have to change yourselve. Bathroom not very clean.

The facilities they list on Hostelworld only exist on the ad, there is no breakfast, the washing machine is broken and no internet access. Could be a cute little place if it was cleaned up a bit. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AS A CONTACT BECAUSE THEY WILL TRY ADD YOU ON FACEBOOK AND THEN GET THEIR FRIENDS WHO YOU HAVE NEVER MET TO ALSO ADD YOU. A HUGE INVASION OF PRIVACY.

Yes its dirty, obviously nobody is in charge of the bathrooms cleaning... The sheets are clean though. Yes the area is dodgy, but there are many dodgy areas in Valpo anyway. In spite of that, we had a great stay and the people who run the place are lovely, very original and its good fun having a chat with them. Their cafe downstairs is beautiful and the whole building is very stylish with the high ceilings, the multicolored walls and the view upon the bay. We enjoyed our stay!

Me and my brother stayed for 3 days in Casa de Mouat during Newyear. The owners wer great; we played music for hours, the helped us with all we needed, we celebrated Newyearsevening together, we met their local friends in their hostels pub and we really felt at home. It's a great hostel in the typical old Valpo-style for a very good price and the hospitality of two realy friendly and helpfull owners.

The owners are great, really made this place feel like a home and I'd recommend it to anyone!!!
