Reviews & Ratings Explained
The rating percentage is calculated from customers who booked within the last 12 months.
All ratings and reviews are based on the feedback and opinions of the customers who submitted them and do not express the opinions of Hostelworld.com. This way, you get an up-to-the-minute opinion of just how good a hostel really is.

I booked months in advance recognizing that there few other lodging choices available in Coyoacan, perhaps no others reasonably priced. But, the room we had reserved was not available, even with an early afternoon arrival. The manager blamed the unfulfilled reservation on Hostel World, saying they usually received people instead from other bookers. Whatever the cause (double booking? miscommunication?), failure to honor reservations harms the reputations of both Cuija and Hostel World.

Well, i really like the garden, the house style (apart from the plastic grass and the aquarium in the top roof), the location. But one thing was not so nice: i payed for the Deluxe double private room and i am sure i had a different one. Also when i got to the hostel they said they could not find my reservation which was weard because i received the confirmation from the hostelworld. Anyway i didnot complaint because the staff are really nice and friendly.

Do not stay here!!!! They do not respond to emails and they do not recognize Hosteworld bookings!!! So you will lose your deposit and most likely not have a place to stay!!!!! Don't know why they are still listed!!!
First of all, there was no reservation at all. The staff of Hostel la Cuija told us that they were having troubles with the booking service of Hostelworld. There were also other guest that had the same trouble. Fortunately they found us a reservation and we got to stay there. They even respected the 10% of the money we had payed in advance.

Very nice place to stay. Great breakfast. Located in a very nice, safe neighborhood that is within walking distance of the main square of Coyoacan. The staff was very, very nice. Definitely recommend.
