The walls are like paper. You can not only hear the street noise but also the three or four tvs of you neighbours , their voices and anything else until 7 in the morning . 6 to 8 cats running around climbing at the kitchen on the table playing with the food a.s.o. Never again!

Absolutely the best hostel in SJ maybe CR. The married owners Norma and Gustavo are great. They'll help you with whatever you want and let you know about the things you don't know you want. The surrounding area is the best, highest quality yet cheapest food. If you're looking to become more permanent, there's no better source of help than Gustavo. He seems to know everyone, loves to help people, and has all the connections.

I liked the decoration and the many cats, but as everything is made of recycle materials, walls are like paperwalls : there is not much privacy and it is a little noisy. I love cats but we can smell their litter and in the 2 rooms we had the water system smell bad from the bathrooms. Dirt is not done, it's full of that on decorations's objetcs, that's why cleanliness what not enough for us.

The place is ok enough, but the staff don't speak any english, and unfortunately we don't speak spanish. And we also know a guy who lives in San Jose and he told us that this was the most dangerous area. The taxi didn't even want to drive us to our hostel at night, cause it was too dangerous.

The staff was nice and helpful, but there were many cats living in the hotel, so you could smell the cat litter pan everywhere. The rooms are small and our room did not had a window... But the hotel is very cheap and centrally located and you can leave your articles of values there.
