Nice Hostel in a great old House near the center of Helsinki. Dorms are very basic and there is not much room to store backpacks or trunks. The kitchen seems to be very small for a hostel at this size. But everything was clean, athmosphere was very friendly and the one key per room thing is not a problem. Staff maybe could be a bit more helpful and provide more information. Alltogether a nice hostel where I would stay again for a city trip to Helsinki.
One room key for an eight bed dorm? Seriously? So the key was left in the door for our entire staystay, anyone could walk in. You need to ring a bell to be let into the building but there was no check that you were staying there. That's normally not an issue, but it is when your room is unlocked.the bin the shower needs to be cleaned more oftenoften. Otherwise everything ele is really good. Great kitchen and staff and location. Would stay again
It's in a great location, but for the price you would hope so. The rooms are comfortable but the staff could be a little more friendly! Wifi is great and the kitchen/common room is pretty big.
Staff may as well have been robots, no conversation or interaction was offered; may have been helpful if I'd asked but I wouldn't call them approachable. The atmosphere was completely dead and while it can be down to the guests, hostel staff should be helping. Not impressed at the vacuuming at 9am; I was already up but plenty of people were still trying to sleep. No front door control and reception don't have limited sight of people entering the hostel. Security depends on guests own padlocks.
The main thumbs up for this hostel is its location. It's right in the heart of the design district so great cafes, restaurants and off beat shops all around. Super easy walk to all the major sights as well as being close to trams, main train station and a short walk to where the express ferry leaves for Tallinn. The hostel itself is clean and rooms are a decent sized but it's not a super sociable place, people seem to keep to themselves & there's no social activities to meet others
Pillows were very flat and the one key per room thing seems a bit strange. This hostel was very quiet, didn't really talk to anyone as they didn't seem up for conversation so I'd say the atmosphere could be better. Everything else seemed tidy.
i stayed there for one night, nice location, but you have to pay 18 euros for locker, but actually it is quite safe because of the staff. they re all welcome and there for 24 hours a day
The atmosphere and staff weren't good. It's a weird hostel not gonna lie. Just try not to visit Helsinki! It's a boring city and there's not much to see and is very expensive. 2 days is enough and believe me you'll get bored on the 3 day.
Just awesome! Friendly staff, great facilities, nice people you meet and comfortable bed!
A nice place overall but the place is clearly quite old.
Everything's is good, people are friendly, facilities is great...
Hostel was in a great location, easy access to all the sites I wanted to see in Helsinki during my layover.
very quiet hostel, very clean and nice staff, expensive but as is the whole of Helsinki :-)
Nice hostel, only stayed one night, arrived late and left early, but good location and friendly enough staff
Really cool atmosphere here, everyone was really friendly and nice! The system of one key per room is unusual but it did work ok for me 😊
Loved this hostel! Staff were so friendly and everyone staying too. Would definitely recommend.
Really nice hostel, 10 min from habor and nice reataurant area. Really kind staff. Good option for a night in helsinki.
Really enjoyed my stay there. It's set up to be a very social hostel (but they stop people making noise at 11pm, so you won't be kept up all night if you want to sleep), it's in a great location for both bars and sightseeing. Less than 10 minutes' walk from both the central train station and coach station. The staff are friendly, helpful and 24-hour. Not a bad word to say about it - this hostel deserves the awards it's won.
I can't say that I felt quite at home here, I'm not sure why. The location was very central. Perhaps because it didn't feel safe: there was only one key to each room so the key was always in the door if someone was there, otherwise it hang in the reception. This means that it was possible to go in each night when people sleep. You might not notice that someone sneak in during the night, when you share with 7 others. And not all travellers are honest, unfortunately. But staff was smiling! :)
