Great location, really nice view of city palace at night. I love that is off the main road, makes it quiet and peaceful. Room was a good size and had a very nice view of the garden. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

I remember Kumbha Palace mostly for its cleanliness, which can be hard to find in budget hotels in India. They had excellent hot water, a nice restaurant, and the lady who runs the place is very kind and friendly without being intrusive, pushy or nosy. I also really appreciated that they gave me a place to rest when I arrived from a morning bus hours before check-in time. The wi-fi didn't really work much while I was there, but these things can be temperamental.

I had a great time at Kumbha Palace. The room was perfect (good value for money) and the food was exceptional! This hostel made my stay in Udaipur comfortable and enjoyable. I would definitely go back!

Improve the quality of the blankets please. The ones I had were at least one hundred years old. Just looks shabby while the room itself looked very happy and romantic with the light blue and red walls.

I liked my stay in the Kumbha Palace guesthouse. It's a basic but nice place with a great location in the center of the old city (but nevertheless not noisy). There is a small garden and a rooftop terrace (great to drink a cool Kingfisher beer in the evening while watching the illuminated city palace). Food in the restaurant was good and tasty, and staff people (in particular the Dutch owner) were very helpful and friendly. Excellent value-for-money.

I cannot recommend this place enough. It's location is excellent, it’s about 7 mins on an autorickshaw from the train station and is close to the main attraction of Udaipur – the city Palace. So close in fact, that it’s got a big green back garden against the wall of said Palace. The rooms and bathrooms are in an okay state. nothing special, but the rest of the place more than makes up for this. Restaurant on the roof that overlooks the city. Really friendly and helpful host. Stay here!

The Kumbha Palace is a delightful small, cheap hostel, located directly underneath the huge walls of the City Palace of the Maharaja of Udaipur in a safe part of the city. The manager, Francine Jain, together with her loyal assistant Anwar, create an atmosphere that is very welcoming. We also had good times with the other guests of the hostel and stayed for five days. We would recommend this lovely hostel anytime. It is very good value for your money too. Carel and Karian

Very professional place to stay and very conveniently located. WiFi was quite slow, but useful to have.
