This is a great hostel. I've stayed here on a couple of different occasions, and I think it's one of the best in the Osaka area. This is a great hostel. I've stayed here on a couple of different occasions, and I think it's one of the best in the Osaka area....Close

This place was dirty and smelt very strongly of stale smoke (which we bought an air freshner for and still could not get rid of the smell!) We were bitten by fleas; the cooking facilities were non-existent (ie no saucepans, plates etc and had to pay to use the hob). Also had to pay to use the showers - unless you wanted a free bath with the homeless people that you share the hotel with. A very unpleasant end to our stay in Japan and I would not recommend it to anybody. This place was dirty and smelt very strongly of stale smoke (which we bought an air freshner for and still could not get rid of the smell!) For the price it was perfect. Traditional and very nice staff. I almost did not stay because of someones comment who said never stay there. I am glad I wrote off their comments as a rant. For the price it was perfect. Traditional and very nice staff. I almost did not stay because of someones comment who said never stay there. Beds are thin matreses on the floor with a sheet and quilt. The area around the hotel is full of drunk bums and smells like urine. We only stayed 2 nights until we could get accomodation in a place we found called Osaka-Guesthouse Koma which is a brilliant place that is clean and tidy and friendly staff.Beds are thin matreses on the floor with a sheet and quilt.
