This hostel is definitely cheap, but I was very surprised at just how dingy the accommodation was. The man who checked us in was pleasant, but smoking a cigarette while he checked us in. Kind of disgusting. Also, the futon was so thin, we might as well have been sleeping on the floor. Perhaps charging a 100 yen extra and giving guests a 2nd layer would be beneficial. Also, the unisex toilets... not a good plan. Perhaps alternating floors of mens and womens even would make it a little better.

I had to move to a different hotel after seeing the place. The place did not smell good at all, it smelled like cigarettes. It was cleaning time when I checked in and garbage bags were in each corner of the floor. The bathroom did not look clean and everything looked old. I asked for a refund so I can move hotels but they said it was not allowed so I just forfeited my payment and moved to a different hotel.
