Very uncommon hostel which could be scary before booking a night in there but once you get in, you know you're going to have a great time visiting the museum. Rooms are a bit tiny though but it's good enough for backpackers like me.
The hostel was definitely a cool experience with its authentic prison charm. Everything was very clean and welcoming. If you got time for 1 or 2 days take the chance and stay there. Don't stay longer than 2 days, it's quite pricey even in the dorm rooms. We got a 3 bed dorm and it was the tiniest room I've ever seen. The 3rd bed was stored under the second and filled up the left space in the room when it was used. They offer really good breakfast but it also costs 95SEK. I could afford it once!
The prison itself is amazing but it is a little out the way in the winter time, summer location would be great for the island it is on. Finding the front door is a mission in itself by being at the back of the hotel. We booked the hotel but when we got there we were given sheets so think we were in the hostel which although was still great not what we were expecting.

The Langholmens' Hostel is really a nice place to stay at: Langholmen island is such a beautiful area! It is the ideal place for people waiting for peaceful holidays, and wanting to go for running, biking, swimming, etc... It is not in the city center, but it is lovely to walk till Gamla Stan (50 min-walk); and so easy to join with subway (only 3 stations from Gamla Stan:10 min. + 10 min-walk). But not really a hostel (rather a hotel): no shared fridge or microwave, no kettle in the room.
