Everything was really wonderful. We especially appreciated the proximity to Cuihu Park, where we walked every day. The pricing was quite favorable, and the Lost Garden muesli was so good my mother bought some extra to take home. The taxi driver had difficulty finding the place in the dark and room was a bit chilly with no heater but they did bring us extra blankets for our first night. Separate bathroom and shower rooms very much appreciated, and lovely terrace and restaurant. Thank you!
Stayed one night in march 2014. Nice and helpful staff. Good location as it is closed to "Green Lake" which is nice for a relaxing walk. The location of the hostel is quiet. Only bad thing for me was that I had one of the downstairs room just beside the stairs and opposite the night guardian room who kept going up and down the stairs which kept me awake until 2am!! Told him off once and it didn't stop him to keep making noises... very annoying.
Lost Garden is staffed by a lovely group of women. They are extremely helpful
Another brilliant one night stay here! Fully recommended
A brilliant 1 night stay here. Modern, clean and comfortable. Also was very cheap and had great good and staff. Couldn't ask for more! Wifi working in all rooms also!
Very comfortable and serene niche near Green Lake Park. It's a walkable distance south to the Tang Dynasty Pagodas (East and West Pagoda)- ~2 km, during which you'll pass the Bird & Flower Market and the many malls on Zhengyi Lu. To the north, it's near the restaurant/bar street of Wenlin Jie- ~1.5 km, and east to the zoo and another street filled with local restaurants and shops- ~1.5 km, and ~2 km to Yuantong Temple. Serviced by Bus No. 2 to the train station; look for Wuyi Street.
Comfy beds, right next to the lake but just a short walk to the town, free luggage storage for upto 7 days, friendly staff and awesome showers! I loved this place, the only thing was there wasnt much of a buzz as the communal areas are quite small compared to the hump hostel in town.
Really nice place to stay, the bathroom in our room was one of the nicest I've seen in a hostel. Only complaint was that the kitchen was closed while we were there (over Chinese new year), and it would have been good if been given some warning, since part of the reason we chose the hostel was for their kitchen services.
This was a fine hostel. It's a bit hard to find, but it's located in a nice part of town. The staff was very helpful. The room was warm and comfortable. I felt it was pretty secure. The food was good. It was very quiet and pleasant.
It was good. The service was excellent.
We stayed in a twin bed room. The room was very clean and nice and even had a hairdryer. It was a bit cold cause they didn't have a aircon but beds were very comfy. The shared showers were very clean, water was hot and they even offer complementary shampoo etc. Only the restroom was a bit small so that you could not sit normally on it and sometime it smelld like gas coming from some kitchen. Over all a very nice stay! We would come back!
Very nice hostel and friendly helpful staff. Could use a map showing how to walk from the the West Inn airport shuttle to the hostel as it is close to walk but the current map needs to show the direction from West Inn.
Nice place with good food, very helpful staff and with the most comfortable beds in china. Also wifi in rooms!
Clean bathrooms, nice common area with WIFI. I highly recommend the hot chocolate (comes in a large mug). Friendly staff and a great location. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm. The beds were very comfortable. Nothing bad to say.
The food in the restaurant was very good, but it was very inconvenient that it is closed one day per week. Also, it would be helpful if it opened earlier, maybe an hour earlier, since you get a late start for a lot of things with the late opening
We enjoyed our stay at Lost Garden. A very nice place and the price for two people with private room about $22. Staff was very helpful in getting bus numbers to attractions, even writing down in Chinese direction for bus ant taxi drivers.

Great place to stay. It's locate near the Green Lake but it's hard to find at first. The staff is very nice and helpful, They can communicate in English fluently. The food is also delicious. We stayed in a mix dorm room, it's comfortable and clean. The bathroom is a blessing.
This hostel was great for a base as we travelled in and out of Kunming. We stayed three times, each in separate rooms, including the double, twin and dorm, all of which were really comfortable with nice homely touches. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we had a good dinner in the restaurant. Location was easy to get around and in a quiet neighbourhood which was a nice change.
