we slept in a double room that was really expensive and basic in relation to the price we paid. it was christmas period but the price was really too high. Anyway the hostel is 10 minutes walk far from the center and it has a private parking that was really useful!
Free Wifi, excellent place for dinner right across the street and bar downstairs. Rooms all had tvs and were quite warm (very welcome as it was freezing outside). Biggest downside was a decided lack of outlets but other than that no complaints! Perfect if you aren't planning on staying in Munich long and need quick access to the train station or are just here for Oktoberfest. If you're looking to spend a lot of time in the historic area this is more of a walk.
We stayed in the largest dorm they had so thats probably why it wasn't that clean. They bathrooms smelled kinda funky and them rooms were kinda dirty. Not the best hostel, but not the worst. Wifi only worked in part of our room so you had to go sit on the floor our in the hall to get internet. I would probably stay here gain, but in a smaller room.
The hostel was conveniently located near the train station, but it was a little further from the city center. We booked a room in a 12 bed dorm to find out that it was actually split into two separate rooms with an adjoining door which was a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
Stayed in a 8- bed dorm which was divided into two rooms which is good if you want to sleep. The beds were comfortable and bathroom facilities ha no faults. Not really a great party place but the downstairs bar had some great happy hours and free pool. Right opposite beer-hall so great if you want a close stumble. Just a few trams stops off the main station. Overall pretty good place.
Out of the city about 20 mins. Good facilities
Our stay here was comfortable. The room was clean and tidy. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Overall good.
We were in Meininger City hotel on November 18th and 19th, 2013. We were five and stayed there only one night. We asked for a 5 bed room with private bathroom and we had a six-bed room which was wide and absolutely clean and warm. We had a wonderful night because the hotel wasn't noisy at all and it costed only 15 euros for each of us. Everybody was so kind with us and the position is excellent, close enough to the city center. Recommended.

The 8 bed dorm was nice. It was split in half by a connecting door so it almost seemed like a 4 bed dorm. The free WiFi was nice but signing back in constantly was a small annoyance. The train station was about a 10 minute walk and the restaurant across the street was amazing. The only negative is that this "hostel" is actually a hotel. So you don't get that community vibe, just a place to rest your head really.
One day our food was distributed in the free stuff shelves (even though the bag was clearly labeled) and some things were missing. When we asked the receptions girls (night of the 13/11, morning of the 14/11) if it was possible to talk to the cleaning lady (just to know if she had made a mistake, we were not accusing her of stealing) they really didn't care and did nothing to help us. The only problem in 21 hostels we had been so far, and the worst staff by far. The rest was fine I guess.
Felt like a hotel. As in, facilities were nice, but it didn't feel very personal.
I have a distak for te staff... they are fantastic
The staff is lack of service mind.

A massive place offering clean and spacious rooms with ensuite bathrooms as well as excellent security and facilities. Its location opposite the Augustiner brewery is not too central (30 minutes' walk to city centre), but with the nearest tram stop at only 100 metres from the hostel one can get around easily. This place seems to attract mostly groups and families, making it more of a budget hotel rather than a true backpacker hostel.
Very cool hostel! Awesome staff that always always seemed happy to help, they have lockers, and there's an awesome brew house across the street with some of the best beer I've ever had. There was a very chill athmosphere, nice kitchen, shower and toilet in the dorms, and they clean the room every day. I plan on coming here again next time I'm in Munich!
Clean hostel, we did not have any problem, but there is no youth hostel spirit. Not the place to meet travelers and have conversations.
It's a very good hostel. Staff is helpful and friendly. Location is nice, near the main station. Tram and train just In the corner. My room and my bed was very clean. Good atmosphere in the common areas. Excellent facilities, kitchen, internet, it's possible to buy cold drinks in the reception. So, in general a place where to stay without doubts.
This is more of a hotel that has some dorm rooms, not a hostel. It is a nice enough place to stay but lacks the atmosphere and helpfulness in smaller hostels.
